yeah, overwatch 2 worst monetization practices are thanks to fortnite, and the dependency on collabs every season because content is crap too, overwatch lost it identity

The only overwatch killer is overwatch. pretty sure if PUBG can stand up next to Fortnite, they’ll be fine. The OW killer is it’s own experience, ignoring all the fortnite style marketing and just focusing on the gameplay itself… its much more common now than ever people end a game session with a negative feeling. The gameplay is in a lower state than it used to be, so it’s more vulnerable to people exploring elsewhere.
Talking like this on a video game forum is so embarrassing

some people just don’t know that the only “OW killer” is literally themselves🫵. and with three very simple actions that they evidently don’t know how to do:
- not playing Overwatch
- not talking about Overwacth
- not caring about Overwatch news to allow them to make an “external comment”;
it’s very simple, even when the disappointed or haters of any type of developer choice still come back here to give importance to a game that they no longer want. coming back here to make comparisons with the ow killer of the moment is in fact the ideal way to keep alive the game that they "hate* / “disappointed them”, forget doses that the term “free” to play also means that you are free to… not play it.
news flash, overwatch does not have the abandonment numbers of concord or s.squad. enjoy your honeymoon with Rivals but then simply make your choice of what you want without complaining about things that YOU can’t help but complain about.

All these shills (Keep in mind, I used to be the biggest shill on here. Now the roles are reversed) do not realize that Marvel Rivals may be the kick in the pants Overwatch really needs to get it’s act together.
I keep saying over and over the core problem no matter which format you are talking about is the level of sustain in the game.
In Marvel Rivals 6v6 notice that people enjoy it because it’s fast paced and fun. That’s why it had over 400k players on steam the last couple days to Overwatch’s 30k (yes, I realize there are bnet players out there).
Just bringing back 6v6 in the form it was is not gonna be the fix people think it is.
That Overwatch Classic event which is the first shot for 6v6 had extreme player dropoff in just a couple days where by the end barely anyone was playing it.

Please, stop, you’re not having the effect you think you are. You are just comming out as a resentful annoying guy. I understand that Overwatch has a lot of problems, the game is in a frustrating and sad state and I can’t bring myself to play more than a match a week, but spamming this Marvel Rivals stuff specially with stupid arguments like “it has more numbers than OW right now” (no sh*t, a 8 year old game having less people playing than a just released one) is not doing the game any favors. It just make it look like you’re hyping it out of spite, not because it’s good, and it makes others want to play it less, not more

Yup he’s right^ this is literally the point of my post. If the games good because it’s good Ill go play that game.
But if it constantly does (and does very well like graphics especially) or is compared to X thing overwatch already does… why would anyone not just… play overwatch?

You are not doing what you think you are, really. Again, you just come off as annoying and beligerant. I have no idea why you want to act like this, and I say this as someone who’ve spent more time this week discussing OW than actually playing it (I don’t really want to deal with widowmaker).
I could give you reasonable arguments, like the fact that TF2 is still kicking around even with OW existing, bots spamming lobbies and the utter neglect of content Valve has submited the game for the last half-decade. OW, a game constantly being updated despite it’s flaws with new content, is not going anywere.
You’ll just say “it’s joeoverwatch” or some other cringe stuff like this and ignore all that.
If you’re eating at Burger King and someone walks in and starts screaming “IT’S BURGOVER, MCDONALDS NEW RESTAURANT WILL SURELY KILL THIS ROTTEN FRANCHISE”, you’d just think the guy is a lunatic, this wouldn’t make you want to go to McDonald’s more.
