Actually his stats for his kit are all higher than launch and by being must picked there is some needed to tuneage but yes I would rather deal with him than widow as long as said Cree doesn’t hard flash fan the hammer me all game from around a corner
It is the public opinion that he is overpowered. Even the pro players WHO PLAY HIM, say he is overpwoered. The first reaction of the majority of people when seeing this experimental was “WHERE IS THE MCCREE NERF?!?!” so yeah.

People said that buffing his rate of fire was power creeping him, then the power creep patch came and nerfed it, but as we can see they can’t leave him without power creeping him at this point (his stats have to be higher than his launch state for some reason), so they buffed him in other direction, like +25hp and faster reload. The power creep patch was just an illusion when it’s about McCree.
In other words it was a power creep shift.
Why not? How it’s that bad? People just suddenly started trashing him when he didn’t got any balance changes lately after latest buffs.
Because he’s been overtuned for ages. The devs partially reverted his GOATS-era fire rate buff and then proceeded to give him four “compensation” buffs in return. It’s not “suddenly”, he’s been needing nerfs for months now.
Can we at least get an los check for flashbang just like roadhog’s hook… That shizz around corners is annoying asf.

Secretely hoping that the reason they didn’t add McCree nerfs to the EXP-card is because they already know what nerfs to give him on retail.

When McCree dominates for months, no issue.
When Symmetra’s pickrate started going up, she was nerfed week later.

He deff needs a nerf
I would say that mccree legit had the genji treatment. Both been overbuffed, both became meta/#1 pick, genji nerfed QUICKLY the wrong way that sent him back to D tier for several months till his recent changes set him to C. Now mccree has been overbuffed and good golly, no one bats an eye and he’s left to be this dominant for so long. And the same people who called genji players crazy for defending S23 genji (and some being mccree mains) are now defending mccree and think hes fine or even needs more buffs. Quite the hypocrisy here…
