Genji has been overshadowed by pretty much every other hero in the game. Almost half of the heroes counter him and his ultimate is “High risk, high reward” nowadays, since players have become much better. These buffs give him a chance to be able to fight back without having his a** whooped by tanks or supports like Brigitte. Please understand that these buffs aren’t the end of the world. They are aimed to make him a more viable hero. Thanks for your time reading this!

I don’t think that making Genji a more viable hero is a problem. People will have to adapt like we, Genji mains, had to do for the past 2 years.

Genji is a middle pick as of this moment, no need to buff him that he’s a top pick again.

Genji is a top pick in the hands of a GM or Top 500 player. However, more casual players have problem with learning the hero since they get destroyed by half the heroes in the game. This should make it easier for people to learn him and eventually master him.
Nothing about his stats suggest he needs buffs. These are to artificially make him good so that more Genji is played in OWL and Genji mains shut up.
There are plenty of heroes that need attention more than Genji does, but bias is bias. Gotta have our Gengu ninja hero be overtuned for the oos and aahs!

Rather around 1.5 years ago, during his dumpster tier time people still would be able to get viability from him.
He has a 2.94% pickrate average overall all rankings, that’s pretty fine.
CC counters Genji, yes though it doesn’t make him impossible to play.

almost no amount of buffs will make him a top pick with how many counters he has. This is just going to make him viable. Chill

I agree, mostly I think being able to cancel it is not needed, causes some issues with online play and what not but he did need some tweaks to be better as it’s hard to justify picking him over other dps heroes at the moment. Overall I think he’s heading in a better direction.

It doesn’t make him impossible to play, but it doesn’t make him fun to play. Overwatch is still a game about having fun.
Just because the best genjis can get value, doesn’t mean he is top tier. Ever since WIDOW replaced him in DIVE, he’s been c tier

- He is the worst hero at his niche. Both Doomfist and Echo can do his job with far less risk. The devs even said this
- The only heroes behind him at the time were heroes that are chronically bad or recently nerfed a lot (Mei). So let me ask you this: Is it possible that a lot of the DPS lineup is UP to some extent?

I can still enjoy him, don’t see what the problem is.
His kit itself is pretty weak, they should redesign it instead of buffing it over.
Otherwise he’s going to become a mobile hero, that can shred tanks whilst being also an ultbot

in high tiers its nearly impossible to get value out of him if you arent literally perfect at all times
which you should need to perform well in high tiers to get value, but not every hero does

Genji is at worst a middle pack hero.
There are like a dozen or so heroes who in way worse state that him, stop crying wolf about it. Genji has never been bottom tier.

It doesn’t matter if he is mid- tier! GENJI PLAYERS GET THEIR A** WHOOPED BY HALF OF THE OW ROSTER. NOT ALL PLAYERS ARE NECROS! TRY LEARNING GENJI AND THEN YOU WILL UNDERSTAND!
For years, players of several heroes that currently are way below Genji have been told that if top ladder players can derive value from them, they are fine and they should git gud.
For years Genji mains have told Sym mains that if Stevoo can get value of Sym, her pathetic state is excused.
Genji is not special nor should he be. Adapt or be removed.
