yeah the only problems we have are a toxic community due to all stats not being publicly available in a scoreboard
a toxic community that thinks they are better than they are and it’s always the teammates that hold them back
a report system that bans innoncent players because it’s completely automated and not checked and the community knows it and they use ab chat reports and sabotage reports for hero choice alone.

Sometimes we can’t help where Blizzard places us. This account from Unranked placed in borderline Gold. We have no choice but to boost our smurfs towards our main rank.
I doubt this is a thing unless Boosting or Plat players claiming to be 4.2K, since you don’t need to be GM to dominate games at that elo
It’s a thing. Have you seen LFG lately? There are constantly teams advertising that they are throwing to bronze, and I’ve been teamed up with a bunch of people who have been quite open about the fact that they are Masters playing an “alt” in Bronze or Gold matches - completely demolishing the enemy team, BTW…
Smurfs are a problem. They completely ruin lower ranked games. I’m not even sure how anyone can say they aren’t, when it’s done so openly and so much in Overwatch.

had 2 smurf matches, i just had to leave the game, there is no longer enjoyable at this point

Either everyone had gotten better or I keep on getting matched up against these mofos.
If your only real concern is going up SR DONT que right now. The first week to 10 days of a season is always a circus. The ladder is a mess it’s going to take some time for things to sort itself out.
If you get a king of the hill game like lijiang or oasis for example be ready for a guaranteed 2-0 win or loss.
This experience is so bad. I would strongly never recommend anyone playing this game because of the smurf and placement matches that mixes everyone into plat/diamond rank.

currently about to get muted again for arguing with smurf players in plat rank every game. i cant help but voice my opinion on it. its stupid, not fun, and not fair to be playing against masters players at 2500. why do so many people think this is ok?

You gotta peel back some layers on this… Smurfs are a problem because an ENEMY smurf will destroy your team, which causes you to LOSE SR. THIS is the problem. Imagine a scenario where all players have individual MMR. Even IF you lose, YOUR INDIVIDUAL performance in that game determines your SR gain/loss… NOT so much the win/loss (the win/loss can add little positive/negative multipliers). THAT is what we need to fix this. This way nobody will care if they got rolled hard… because if they do well, their SR will go up… EVEN IF they get rolled by a smurf on the enemy team.

Yes, and your individual performance is affected by smurfs as well. In a one sided match where one player dominates completely, other players get to deal less damage, earn less kills etc.
Even if the smurf is on your team, your SR suffers because you contribute less than usual to the match.
Smurfing isn’t a reportable offense. Only throwing games is reportable, which of course smurfs have to do, but only stupid smurfs throw so obviously that they get reported. The way it is now, smurfs can keep smurfing forever without intervention from Blizzard.

It has nothing to do with the “first week to ten days of a season.” It’s ALWAYS like this.
And I’m really struggling to see the difference between surfing and throwing, in the grand scheme of things.
Both of them have the exact same effect on a match. It causes all semblance of fairness to immediately disintegrate.
It should be reportable; and there is no point having a competitive game if you insist on allowing people to, basically, cheat openly and freely within the competitive environment.

I could cope with Smurfs if only they weren’t such obnoxious A$$hats usually say EZ stuff llike that. In person guarantee they are either 400 pound virgins who smell like defrosted fish fingers or some spotty pale nerd living at home at 30 stinking his parents house out with week old BO
Smurfs arnt a problem. People who complain about smurfs are the same people who complain about people on there team being the reason they cant climb out of there rank after 6 seasons. I’m gonna be straight with you smurfs in gold dont exist. If your level 500 and havnt climbed out of your rank thats your skill level. The amount of players in the player pool for gold and the amount of people of masters and gm players making new accounts to throw in gold is near to none

Trio comp queued with a 3.9k smurf on his 2.5k account today. Won 4 games with him.
Don’t feel guilty at all as makes up for the 4 losses this season due to leavers and throwers.
Makes me wonder how many dozens of other smurfs I’ve had for and against in my past games. Player quality all the way from 1.3k to 2.5k that I’ve played at has ranged from utter ineptitude to godlike, and not necessarily better as SR rises.
Interesting that the games were actually fairly close. 1) He’s a dps main playing Mercy, as about as able to carry as a soggy paper bag, 2) Possibly matchmaker gave us tougher opposition as it sensed his higher MMR, or our 3 random non stack team mates weren’t great. My smurf friend got triggered by 2 of the 3 random instalock dps being terrible in one game.
I wonder if matchmaker keeps smurfs down for longer? If he’d lost one of those games due to facing some serious opposition, that’s another game away from getting up to his real rank on that account.
Got a diamond friend has a bronze account for “smashing (female dogs)”. Alt accounts are free on PS4. I was considering one for smurfing dps in bronze. Then when it gets tough I whip out my mains! Lucio and Moira! Hmmm, wait a minute, I don’t think that works…

He said he doesn’t think it’s as big a problem as some people think because a smurf account will soon reach the SR of the main account.
However, he failed to comment on the fact that for all the matches the smurf is in until they reach the same SR as their main they have an unfair advantage over other players actually at those ranks.
And according to the in game reporting system anything that affords an unfair advantage is cheating.

For example, a Master player on a Platinum smurf has an unfair advantage over other players actually at Platinum rank.
