Please return the old Doomfist Plz

You killed the hero truly. I tried him “the new Tank Doomfist”, not good, and very bad.

Apparently he was too good at fighting single tanks so they moved him.

Why would you want the old one when Overtunedfist is absolutely broken now?

Tank doom has never been worse than doom at the end of ow1. He has always been considerably stronger. Dps doom was, for many, more fun, and it was not about power level.

Because he is not as fun as the original?

So you tried a new, mechanically challenging hero for the first time and weren’t good at them??? Who would have thought.
DF is in a pretty decent spot balance wise.

Fun at the cost of ruining the game balance. Whatever they buffed him with was far too much.

Originally, he was supposed to be a tank

So, I guess you somewhat got your wish there

I know what you meant though

Forum Doomfist is back apparently.

DPS Doomfist was better. Or at least I was better at DPS Doomfist.

He was played in the pro-scene throughout Season 9 and Season 8.

I… don’t really care much for this incarnation much anymore, but he’s fairly competitive all told.

Nah, he wasn’t played competitively after GOATS, and he tended to have the highest death rate in the game compared to all other Damage-role heroes.

He has one the lowest KDAs in the game too.

More like buggy, and forced into breaking map terrain to made his “roll-outs” work.

Doomfist is built around a flawed concept of being a melee hero with little to no sustainability. His Seismic Slam could hit for 130 damage, but only two maps in the game had enough height to make that work. Otherwise, you were likely to average less than 70 damage for an eleven second cooldown (later 10 seconds).

No, he wasn’t.

All about the one-shot kill Rocket Punch!

All he going for him. Widowmaker and others were more effective at it, and without nearly as much risk.

Slams maximum damage was based on air time, not height.

You could get max slam on every map.

(125 max damage. 6 second cooldown)

That’s what I meant. You never had enough height to make it work.

Only if you abused the map terrain and floated on non-pathable rooftops like those in Dorado, Ilios and others.

I mean that helped. But you definitely didn’t need to do this. It only took 1.5 seconds of air time to hit max damage.

Right, again. So the original Seismic Slam had a movement speed of 30 meters per second from the air. Since the maximum height on any one map tended to be 25 meters, it is next to impossible to get that much air on Seismic Slam, since the most you could get was about one second or less.

This meant that you could hit something like 112 damage from a great distance, but you would otherwise never be able to hit the cap without launching from a great height. Since the grounded version of Seismic Slam was slower (and had an ascending arc), you could place yourself on a high perch, like one from Numbani, Gibraltor, Eichenwald, or King’s Row and work it in there - only on very specific perches, though.

The other possibilities, would be to get displaced while in Seismic Slams’s animation (via Concussion Grenade, or Soundwave, and a host of other ones) to get some more air time to force it out that way; but relying on the enemy team to get themselves punished for more damage, seemed unwise and rather ill-conceived design by Blizzard.

There was also a glitch/bug/whatever where if you have a destructable fence on ledge, Seismic Slam would hop over it, intentionally, and give you enough air time to max out the damage, but again, you counting a handful of maps where you could do that and your team or the enemy team didn’t already destroy them.

Otherwise, you hang air by Uppercutting into rooftops or Seismic Slamming from a heightened position that you let you get up there and to a lower elevation; or basically doing a “roll-out”. Which wasn’t that feasible on many maps.

doom is back as dps, just under a new name, see: venture

Doomfist as a tank cannot swallow it.

swap the roles of mei and doomfist and bring back uppercut.

Hopefully they revert him back if/when they bring back 6v6…

I remember that they said “there will be OW1 mode in OW2”.
