Please Remove Rez

As a support main who started the game as mercy one trick and still plays her a lot. Remove rez. Its terrible as a base cooldown ability. The 75% slow, 1.75sec cast time. 5 meter range…

the rework was intended to make mercy more engaging, but there are emotes that are more engaging than that ability.
You literally have to hide and rez now or do it once the fight is over. Its so painfully boring. I’d much rather she have an ability she can use proactively on her E (with a much shorter cooldown).

It’s not very fun to play against either, since it doesn’t need to be earned like rez on ult did it feels a bit cheap, but is still so strong of an ability it keeps the rest of her kit so lack luster. I mean the healer that was meant to pump out more healing over the course of the match than any other is an off healer damage boost bot now…

Does anyone like this ability? The good news is if they remove it you can just emote in the middle of the fight and it’ll have the same effect. You stand there glowing for 2 seconds while your team dies and you lose the fight because one of their healers effectively went afk (I mean at least don’t disconnect mercy’s beam or something lmao).

i think it would be fun if they removed rez and replaced it with an ability that let a single person of her choosing fly. think about the possibilities

If this is how you are using rez as Mercy then you are doing it wrong. If this is what you are seeing from your opposing team, then you are also doing it wrong.

Using rez effectively means abusing corners and the shields, bubbles, and/or defense matrix to revive a player so you keep numbers even or at least close to even. If you’re rezzing to make a fight 2 v 6, then you’re feeding.

Punishing a rezzing Mercy means not letting her be comfortable enough to rez. If Mercy is rezzing in your face and you’re letting her get away with it, then it’s you that needs to figure out how to counter.

Rez can change the direction of a fight when done or countered correctly.

Rez is iconic to Mercy, It’s not going anywhere and it should not go anywhere.

If anything, it could stand to be buffed in a rework for Overwatch 2—maybe we’ll even see the return of Mass Rez! (Who knows!?)

I’d rather have Mass Rez be her Ultimate ability once more, but that has a snowball’s chance in hell of happening.

I’ll agree with that. Also Mercy, like Brig, has a pretty vocal and antagonistic hate following. No reason to fall for any of the trumpeting over something as ridiculous as the removal of rez entirely.

They wanted to remove it, but its way too iconic, it’d make more sense to just delete the whole character, Res IS Mercy

I would be open to having res replaced. So long as it’s replaced by something useful and practical. Otherwise leave res as is.

yeah hide and rezzing… so engaging… so exciting. Its not about using the ability right or wrong its about using it at all. I’d rather just do a pretty emote the ability is so boring and unengaging
