If you want to help restore balance, then remove DPS talents from healers. Make them into Shields or extra damage mitigation so they dont get slaughtered, but really its time to remove DPS talents from them. Why you say? So many join for fast que times and then do not play the heal spec. If Blizzard feels it is important enough to carry 2 heal specs, then they must feel that you need actual healers. So with that being said. Please just remove the dps talents from all heal class, make them damage mitigation and heals only … it will deliver a balance to the matches.

So, the primary role of healer… is to heal… hence the role. When they dedicate 2 out of 6 slots to this … and neither do it, why not just dedicate 4 dps and get rid of the role all together.

I’d argue the only pure damage ability on a support is Damage orb on moira, which, I agree, I hate because theres no utility to it. But what other damage talents are you talking about? Every other ability on a support, damaging or not has another purpose.
Or are you just petitioning to remove damage from supports entirely? In which case no, I’d rather keep my adorable pistol whipping mercy’s thank you very much. I like them.

Ok, let me rephrase this. The Primary function of the heal class (yes, that’s a cross, means medical) is to heal. The weaker or secondary ability is to defend ones self via dps. My theory was to change the DPS to damage mitigation or a self defense talent (Pally shield, poison circle, land mines, basically not a ranged weapon).
