Or make a separate map where they can play basketball instead of dragging their team down.
I have never seen someone stay in spawn to hit the ball after the game starts. They shouldnāt remove a fun feature just because a very small number of people get distracted by it.

Iāve never seen anyone do it either, but if it does even cause 1 player to throw a game then thereās no harm in simply making them disappear after a game begins.

There must be some stupid tictoc challenge or something for this. Had a dps on Nepal spend 90% of the game hitting the basketball in spawn. Game was a close loss. Had he contributed even a tiny bit more, we could have won. Reported him for inactivity. Not that it will matter.

But yeah, never saw anyone stay in spawn beyond a drink (I assume)
THAT is the problem. The first dozen times, I was just shaking my head but like you said, there are times when that player would have definitely made a difference in the actual game. I now report them, but nothing ever happens.
Do they still give you a comment in OW2 like they did in OW where it says āWe acted on your reportā?
That as well as taking Meiās ice wall away until she is outside the spawn point.

If someone wants to throw, no matter what, theyāre gonna throw.
If there isnāt a basketball, theyāll just jump off the map.

If someone chooses to be a wank and repeatedly disrupt my basketball shots before the round starts, I feel no shame in either staying in spawn until I make the basket, or outright telling the enemy team to focus hard on them because they disrespected the sacred art of spawn basketball.

Iāve made it to BP level 90-ish without seeing a single game spoiled by basketball. It does happen sometimes. Those are people who would ruin the game in some other way if there wasnāt basketball.
Like Akary, who should be reported everytime they do that.
The amount of times I ever come across this is never.
