Okay let’s go back to my example. Let’s say in pass 1 the TTK was 5 seconds. Now in Pass 3 instead of buffing HP to 500, we buff it to 600. That is powercreep. The TTK is now 6 seconds. Still, why does it matter? If the devs decide they want the fights to last a little longer, then this is something they might do. Why is it a problem if the devs decide slightly longer fights are healthier for the game? The only problem is that it is a change to what you are used to. There is no negative implication, you just gotta adapt.
They already explained that listening its not the same to agreeing but I can think of plenty of examples where they agreed with the pros in the past
This game is doomed.
I understand that if you want to keep playing and trying to enjoy Overwatch in the short term you adapt, but in the long term you discuss the game and hope improvements are made.
The difference between having shields and not is immense and having attentive supports even more so.
As the damage negation and healing goes up and justifies higher, lower effort damage potentials (or vice versa) it means that you better get healed, shielded etc. etc. immediately no exceptions, and it’s created an unhealthy co-dependency.
Players want a little more space, time and freedom to actually play, instead we’re all huddled together peaking corners, stifled by the single button low effort damage negation and afraid of the Halt’s/CC and spam.
Sure, if balance changes affect gameplay in a way you have issue with, you’re entitled to complain about it. You can talk about the specific effects of balance changes and explain how they negatively impact your experience. Just crying ‘POWER CREEP’ means nothing and only shows that the person has no grasp on game balance.
that was a really “FUN FACT”.
thanks for letting me know that know-nothing clowns like you work in the balance stuff. Makes it easy to quit the game.
Couldn’t post on your main?
couldnt post it without your public profile?
lmao silver player. What i said has nothing of concern to you.
so much snowflakeness. How much of ur salary do u spend in loot boxes
Why would it? You’re hiding behind an alt.
I think the game is mostly balanced in a relative sense, it’s just the gameplay that’s jeopardized.
It’s too all or nothing, either you’re dead in sub 1 second or you’re getting spam healed, shielded/DM’d and as quick as someone could press a button you’re no longer a viable target. This needn’t be the case.
For a game that’s classified as a shooter you have to admit that a lot of effort has gone into preventing players from shooting one another, or negating types of damage entirely with healing throughput. I think we could stand to balance the game around shooting each other a little more, and preferably in a way where we’re not dying instantly if all of those heals/shields aren’t available.
Widly different to what Overbuff says. Why cant you clearly tell us the things we look at are wrong. Most of the playerbase goes to that website and take it as facts. They base their hero picks and decide what needs buffs and nerfs based on what that website says.
Also, litteraly eveyone thinks powercreep is a thing, their a pros and youtubers and coaches who strongly believe its real and it’s very hard to find something on these fourms that doesn’t believe it’s a thing.
Many players believe powercreep is the reason why high sustaining heros are needed to be played. To try and get as much sheilds and healing as possible, heros like Reaper, Mei, Moira and Bapt were considered very weak until now, all because they have abilities that actually make stand a chance in a fight.
You’ve just nerfed sheilds, and now pros are trying to run Rine and Orisa together. Two main tanks together, that’s literally never been done before. Do you ever stop to think about why their so desperate to have sheilds? It feels like you never look at the big picture, you never look at why something is powerful or enabled. What are you going to do nerf sheilds again?
I think this past year theres been, two dps nerfs? Widow small hook cooldown and Syms damage nerf (due to a big fix that made her do more damage). While all the dps are doing more damage than before, faster rates of fire, faster reloads, less fall off, tighter spreads.
You just have to look at past metas and realise Hanzo and Widow are the two biggest problems. Dive, double sniper counters it, goats becomes a thing to counter DS, DS returns after goats nerfs, double sheild comes in response to it, and now Hazno for the third time in a year is dominating the game once again. These two heros are clearly restricting the meta and them and dps powercreep and clearly the reason why high sustaining comps keep needing to be played.
And now Bapts field is being used so the team can actually have a chance to poke back at Hanzo. And you think Bapts field is the oppressive one??? That is actually insane.
I’m starting to think the whole dev team and Hanzo and Widow mains. Have you ever actually played against them? Them just existing stops you and your team from entering 90% of the map. Yeah Bapt is a bit op, but you think the ability that stops you from being instantly killed is the oppressive thing in the game? Jezz.
Overbuff has had little to no credibility ever since private profiles were added anyway.
Thank you
Also… McCree/Brigitte/Sigma all have a stun for Reaper
They do not need to waste their time constantly correcting people.
I think soldier and genji need some tuning, but I also think if the meta changed from what it currently is the two would fall into place well and become viable most of the time again. However I think Soldier needs more tuning than Genji right now.
The “skill” elitists got called out hard hahahha.
Sure, I can see that point. I agree shooting barriers sucks which is why I don’t bother with them anymore.
Welp, I’m saving this if I ever get into a debate on if or how Blizzard should balance the game.
Especially those who say they should only look at higher brackets.
this thread has gone wild! Keep it up people you might manage to never receive a dev comment again
