Please nerf echo

Echo is very overtuned and makes atleast 3 other heroes completely worthless. Her kit offers both way too good of a poke and an insane burst combo that is good against both squishies and tanks

I like echo

I got her gold gun on day one and I enjoy her playstyle

But she is beyond broken in every rank.

Even a bad player can get decent value out of her

I love echo too, playstyle wise she is very well designed. In fact I’d argue her kit doesn’t even need much changing. But as it is now she is way too spammy, does WAY too much damage for a mobile flank and makes playing tank a living hell.

Again though, I only think she needs minor changes, because as a design I think she’s extremely good. Her kit is just far too liberal right now.

So people without a thesis can still play Echo? That is true but kind of odd to mention. Assuming by “abd” you mean “all but dissertation”.

Jokes a side I am not sure what you mean by “abd”.

My idea would be to increase her sticky bombs and beam cd by atleast 2 seconds each and maybe lower flight cd a bit as a compensation. Her damage being missed has no significant impact. FOR example if you use symm tp bomb or double mine on junkrat you have a 30 second and 16 second downtime respectively. Miss bombs? 8 seconds and you can nearlyoneshot every squishy hero again. It doesnt feel punishing. I even throw my bombs on shields often cuz 180 damage is 180 damage, it’s not like Ill ever be punished by this short cooldown

Exactly. Even a mildly competent echo basically takes engagements for free if she has bombs up. I think she should be punished a little more for misusing them.

If you wanna be cheesy throw the bombs when the shield goes down.

We can try increasing the cooldown, to punish spamming.

Aim them at center of shields and you usually still hot them if the shield drops. Also if you dont get value out of them big deal? do it again in 5 seconds

She is wayyyy too forgiving and low cooldowns allows her to spam abilities. Do you ever need to choose between beaming down a shield and later beaming down a squishy? not really, you will likely have beam back up in time.

I suggest both beam and bombs get their cds increased, and maybe decrease flight cd or tighten spread a bit

Yeah quite literally the only adjustments I’d like to see to echo are a bomb cooldown increase and perhaps a beam cooldown increase to compensate the tanks shields being worse.

People often say duplicate should be nerfed to be less free and punish over agression but the problem with that is that duplicate by design requires over aggression to get good value out of it. I think duplicate as an ult is fine.

I don’t know. Its her beam that irritates me the most. It should do max damage when players are 25% to 40% HP not 50. It should be a clean up tool not an eraser when you’re stil half HP. That’s just my opinion though.

Though it would not do damage to the tank or their teammates. As Echo you have enough tools to break down a shield without bombs. Thus when the shield is about to go down you can attack the tank and their teammates.

You can use it to break shields but I find it better used to damage enemies.

True, I feel dup is fine though.

I am just saying that while doing it feels like a misplay, because of the low CD its rarely punished as one

You still can get good value by spamming it, true. Yet I feel you get more by using it more carefully. Similar with Ashe’s TNT.

Not saying it makes her perfectly balanced, but it is wiser.

Ashes tnt has double the CD, which is exactly the argument here. Ashe has decent downtime for mistakes, echo has very low one

Well I do not mind a CD increase, I am not saying it is balanced just I feel it is better used this way.

I am not saying the usage was ever good, it’s more “even bad plays get value” example because her cooldowns are wayyy too forgiving

True, but I feel an even better player can get more value. Not really talking about balance, just suggesting a helpful tip.

The comment was about making a point, not about branding the play as optimal

I mean the comment was about helping you be an even better Echo, its just a tip.

To be honest my echo playstyle has me rarely interact with shields. I prefer dismantling their backline like an immobile healer or dps

That is cool, I try to be as annoying as possible.
