Please make it impossible to Que for only Damage

Yeah let’s force people to play a role they don’t want
Then they will throw your games

ok, fine.
i get the message, loud and clear.
I’m done quing for multiple roles - I’m gonna just que for damage from now on.
no more being flexible or being willing to play tank or support for this cowboy.

If this game, and apparently community, would rather just treat being flexible as being a sucker, who am i to argue.

Just remember I warned you when the Que time for DPS gets so long you can fit an entire match between wait times.

“you can teach people who ONLY want to play damage that life’s not about getting what you want - its about compromises.”

why not play competitive mystery heroes at that point? Im sure carpes mercy is worth watching

I remember a time, you clicked the button to start looking for a match, and found one within seconds. Not mins.
Good times…

I mean it’s a solution to the problem…just not a good one. I also like how it only punishes DPS one tricks and tank/support one tricks get off free.

We should go back to making pro role queue people go in LFG and as an added bonus you can teach people who want to dictate what others play that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

I generally appreciate new ideas. Except this one.

Flex Role Queue: You click and you can get any role at any time.

People would quit the game in mass. Please remember that the lack of versatility (True flexing between roles) is what lead to the Role Queue existing in the first place.

Hahaha what? Its a DPS player’s responsibility to also play support or tank? They’re different playstyles!

If this idea were implemented, here’s my suggestion:

If an expected wait time exceeds 10 mins, or 10 mins have passed in a live queue, a text box appears onscreen (without interrupting the queue, just in case the person went AFK) to ask “Would You Like to Search for a Game without 2-2-2? Yes/No”.

If the person clicks “Yes”, then they and anyone else who did the same can be put into the next available match which pits random players against each other. So yes, you can have 6 DPS versus another 6 DPS.

I also suspect there is a lot of pent up demand from the player base to just finally be able to play DPS in peace with in a 222 system. A whole lot of players never really got to play DPS for game after game, without having to argue with the team or battle with instalock DPS players.

So being we, I think less than two weeks into role queue, it’s almost a given people are going to test out other roles. The big one being DPS.

If the meta can settle down a bit, open the door for different tanks to played and supports are not getting insta-blown up by doomfist I think more players will enjoy playing tank/support in the 222 system.

We all knew there would be growing pains going from an outlaw like system of shove your way to the front for your hero pick vs an organized line.

So you what people into forced roles, mm we got that in forced 2’s, now you want to forced it even more by making everyone that wants to play dps, to lock in other roles.

But hang on, those that whinged for forced got what they wanted, now you want even more. As to those only wanting to play dps, well its is there right to, they paid for a FLEX game and now they get a forced game, who are you to tell them to lock in other roles to compromise. Get a handle on your self-righteousness.

The arrogance of people on these forums.

you also isolate the players, gg

Ok.

Why?

Why should I not get to play the role I want in role queue?

Why should I not use role queue in the precise manner it was intended to be used, for the EXACT reason it was implemented in the first place?

Explain it to me. Because either this is the worst bait I’ve ever read or you legit think people should be FORCED onto roles they don’t wanna play— in a freaking video game they play for fun

Because right now, unless you ONLY Que for damage, you’ll never get to play damage.
If you que for multiple roles, you’ll play only tanks and supports, which means that queing for multiple roles is only worth it if you DON’T want to play damage.

How many people do you think ONLY want to play either tanks or supports and no damage vs the people who want to play everything ?

The problem this creates is that it converts a significant section of the “flex que” players into a “DPS only que” players (because if they want to play damage, they have to que for only damage) - thus increasing the number of damage players the game has to find a match for, and DECREASING the number of tank and support players for the game to pick from.

which means much longer que time for damage players.

It also means the game can’t simply say “This players is qued for everything, and already played support or tank in the last 3 games - time to assign them to damage”.
Because the game can’t AFFORD to assign a potential tank or support players to damage - they are in very short supply as it is.

by making all damage players also a potential support or tank players, you increase the pool for each role, and make the option i mentioned above very easy to implement.

The alternative is a situation where you’ll have to wait for 20 minutes for a game.

The main problem with this is that it will flood us with Tanks and Supports that have no interest in playing Tanks and Supports. You don’t want those people on your team.

Ideally videogames aren’t there for parenting life lessons, but to have fun.
Why take away the option of waiting longer in exchange for a guaranteed dps spot?
If we want to fix queue times, I think a yeti hunt system would be better.

I have been doing this since the times have risen over 10 mins, its boring as hell always going the same roll due to this forced crapshow…

I bought this game for flexing, now I am stuck to either a 20min wait for dps, which I enjoy playing or going with another role just to play so I haven’t wasted my money and can get some value out of it now.

After 10+ matches in tank, I have the right to fair times when going dps role. As a dps player, I have a right to fair times regardless of how many people want to play tank/support.

This stupid forced mentality is what has ruined this game and people like you who think that people should role lock other roles just to get times down, is absurd on the laughable.

I had to put up with this sort of crapshow in WOW (hence why i was always healer) and said as much on here when people started with this crap forced stuff. Only difference, WOW you can do stuff for the time it takes to get into a run.

Now you want more forced issues to be put in place, I thought this was a game for people to enjoy, not a dictatorship, oh hang on it is blizzard after all.

my entire point was that this would LOWER the time for you to get DPS while flexing.
If everyone is quing for multiple role, making it so you can get DPS every other round is a breeze - the system just has to remember what you played last round and assign you to the other role.

This is definitely true, it doesn’t work on a round robin way of picking which matches to pick rather than that it’s a let’s find a match as fast as possible with given requirements, so if you queue for tank and DPS, you’ll get tank a lot more, it should be round robin, but at this point in time the way the queuing system works is if you queue for DPS and something else, despite not getting into a match as a DPS you end up filling a position and wasting time for someone that is just queuing for DPS specifically.

Will you people please give up this nonsense already? I hate solo healing that 4 instalock DPS team, too. But this notion that other people must pay money for this game to play the way you want them to play, along with some smug BS “life lesson,” is ridiculous.

If you want people to play a particular way, use the LFG feature. Stop trying to force others to play according to your particular whims only.
