Please Make All Achievements Obtainable Again

You have to remember that the Overwatch 2 engine was being developed with specifically PvE in mind. When the focus was shifted, they decoupled those dependencies from the PvP side of things. Whilst you may think that the engine is the same, it’s not and some of the new heroes, abilities and even the larger maps (Flashpoint) for example were simply not possible under the old OW1 engine constraints. You may think its just a slap of paint, but a lot of what is in Overwatch 2, the heroes etc is only possible because of the significant upgrades they did under the hood.

One of the achievements is to be an owl player and an owl champion. You will never have 100%

I don’t see how any of those changes would make the Archives missions so difficult to bring back, especially when they did so with 6v6, classic, and many other things.

They simply decided not to bring those missions back, but gaslighting the players with BS doesn’t make them look as bad as telling the truth: they don’t see enough $$$ behind the idea.

Even Jeff said back in the day that the Archive missions they created stretched the capabilities of the OW1 engine and were essentially spaghetti code, that would break often even with minor changes.

Considering how those missions were made, Aaron Keller said when they ported them across to OW2 engine, they simply broke and would require completely re-building them from scratch.

Maybe one day they’ll remake them with the OW2 engine PvE systems, but they are focused on PvP experiences now, so it’s a big big if.

Hahahahahahahahhaahahahahahaha

Good luck mate

Some of the achievements are straight up impossible.

When they buff or nerf characters they never adjust the achievements.

I believe that’s a challenge, not an achievement. I’m more referring to the achievements related to individual heroes and events.

I advise you to also post this on reddit or other social media, since devs barely ever come here for feedback

Just make sure you have some reliable friends ready. Even in Junkenstein randos are not as good as they used to be - and some of those old achievements are tough.

Even so, the Archives and Invasion events were a great way to find new friends, I’m just not convinced the playerbase now has the dedication to accept a challenge.

Yeah, that’s true. It would probably be helpful for me to post these concerns on other social media platforms. Sadly, I don’t really use other formats like Reddit and such, so I wouldn’t get the traction needed for the change I’m hoping for. You’re not wrong, though I’ve played a bit of Junkenstein’s Revenge since it came back, and I found the achievements a lot easier than I expected, but generally the player base was slightly worse. The only issue I’m having is that a lot of the achievements require Endless mode.

Yeah, even finding ‘reliable’ friends can be tuff due to the looking for group systems generally beaing filtered towards competitive play and often having a large amounts of trolls, either or this is slightly of topic
