Please let us endorse friends

We can endorse a player once a day. Would it really be so absolutely god awful if we could give our friend an endorsement once a day? This system literally punishes people for playing in groups. Its absurd how poorly designed it is.

Also let us endorse enemy players again. 0 reason for the removal of that. If enemy players are good sports and our allies are mean we should be able to complement the enemies for that.

I just want to be able to endorse the enemy team.

I tend to never endorse jerks, and sometimes everyone on the team is a jerk. Or sometimes enemies are just fun to play with.

But endorsements don’t mean anything though.

Occasional battle pass XP, big whooop de do.

The reason they don’t mean anything is because blizzard made the system that way. They added no value at all to it. That shouldnt be a defense for not improving it.

I don’t think I’d allow endorsing friends because then people would always endorse their friends (at least once per day anyway), even if they didn’t deserve it.

However, what I would do:

  1. Playing with friends stops endorsement decay. Essentially, by playing x number of games with friends, you are able to maintain your current endorsement level even if you don’t receive any endorsements.
  2. Build endorsement multiplier by playing with friends. You play a bunch of games with friends, then get an endorsement in a game played with randoms? That endorsement from randoms is worth more because you played a bunch of games with friends, where endorsements were not available.

These are solid improvements.

that sounds toxic, why cant you support your own team?

Because if they’re mean or unremarkable why would i want to endorse them? Im not “supporting” players when i endorse them, im labeling them as a player who went above and beyond the norm to make my experience in that match better. Sometimes, there are matches where teammates just don’t do that.

enemy endorsements aren’t positive, and have no place in this game

Yes they are. Enemy players who are friendly in chat or have sportsmanlike conduct can enhance my experience in the same way as a good or friendly teammate.

I already said why in the comment you replied to.

Endorsement system matters even less. A bit of bpass exp, yay.

you make someone feel good by endorsing them. then you get bonus xp if you get endorsed a lot, because why not?

It’s after the match is over. >-> There are no teams afterwards.

no i don’t endorse anyone

it creates an oppressive, inequal endorsement hierarchy that i will not be a part of

What’s your endorsement rank

What kind of mentality is this? Endorsements are just that - endorsements. It’s a sign from another player that you did something really well. Why can’t I express my respect to enemy player for being a good opponent? How is it toxic?

I always felt that Endorsement level bonus that happens every now and then should be the new COINS. Especially if level 5 gave you 1000 coins (enough for the next battle pass). It would do a lot towards encouraging people to try to get endorsements; i.e. not be toxic.

The opposite, it would fuel people to false report people on level 5 so they don’t get them. Today you learn reports (any kind, no need to be verified) count as negative endorsements/decay.

I can’t understand why they removed that. I loved endorsing opponents!

They’re like a hug. It’s nice to receive and can brighten a person’s match. Even if the hug isn’t gonna help you grind out a sick spray in the BattlePass.
