I just got the gold border and the only thing it bought is toxicity.
We can already make our profiles private, we should be able to make our account levels private as well.
How about no.
And why not? 20 characters
if some one is smurfing you wouldnt even know, the only reason i can think of rn.
Imagine how things would look if you could hided your border. Ew.
Yes but smurfing is not against the rules anyway. And many people get toxic against smurfs.
Since, they are slowly getting rid of stats etc. I see why not.
Private profiles should never have been introduced. The border thing is probably okay to hide.
I’m a gold border as well. I get shamed just for being in platinum, even though I carried myself out of gold just days ago. It’s as if your border lvl = skill.
Considering the private profile precedent and the fact that smurfing isn’t illegal I don’t see a problem with this.
This is why customizable borders are needed.
Nah, blizzard needs another way to make you buy a 2nd account
exactly this. I am diamond and according to stats that Jeff released a long time ago that is top 15% or something. I am pretty happy with being there. especially because i play often after work when i am tired.
you also have to remember that everyone that plays overwatch is improving. to rank up you need to improve faster then the rest.
I am a gold border, halfway to a platinum one. I don’t care about people shaming me for putting thousands of hours into the game. Just get over it.
Borders and levels are misleading: a level XX bronze may be a smurf who will solo-carry against a team of randoms in QP, a level YY platinum may be a one-trick unable-to-aim player who is not really doing that well in the game
May be locking one’s profile private, effectively hiding all the data on what kind of gameplay teammates may expect from the player, should also hide level/reset the border to something default.
I like this idea. It would also add something new for lootboxes.
The forums were getting close to one week without me seeing a post arguing against private profiles. I know the OP wasn’t arguing about it but others were.
Not everyone. I get players every other match or so that intentionally want to ruin the game for everyone else. When I see an instalocked Torb I almost want to disconnect the match instantly.
That is great that you dont care. But I am getting tired of the toxicity in this game. If Blizzard can do something to lessen toxicity just a bit they should do it.
I saw a plat border yesterday. My only thought was man that guy must be good! He wasn’t.
