This is the first event that included unique customizations to the text of our in-game names. It reminds me of Call of Duty games in that there is a lot of customization for your battle tag. It Would be nice to have more events like this. Here are some ideas:
- More animated text for our names. It makes us feel like we stand out and it’s a fun goal to look forward to.
- Seasonal rewards. Halloween and Christmas-themed battle tags. Think spiders dangling from your name or gingerbread men twirling candy canes next to players
- Limited events should last for at least two weeks. This helps prevent FOMO and gives most players enough time to achieve the rewards and play the event.
Loved the event, it made for a fun weekend and it gave me some goals to work toward outside of just seeing my rank go up. The game needs more of this to reward players for their time and commitment.
If they make it a week, then yes. 3 days is way too short and please for the love of god… do not make losses lose your progress. We should have learned this years ago that this kind of system sucks.
I wouldn’t mind the losses penalizing progress if The event lasted much longer than one weekend
Honestly this is why I even came to the forums today. Was too busy this weekend to really play. One of the reasons I was busy was taking the trip into Tokyo for Overwatch’s own Collab event with Tokyo Tower Red. GF spent the entirety of yesterday trying to complete the drive, right up until the event ended. She was still short a win and couldn’t complete it.
Adults have stuff to do and kids don’t have agency over their time. A single weekend is not enough time, especially with the possibility of lose streaks undoing doing your progress.
She went to bed feeling like the 10+ hours and stress she spent on OW yesterday was a waste of time. That’s not an ideal outcome for what should be fun.
