I fully believe you have the best of intentions at heart but what leads you to believe that people, in the heat of the moment, wouldn’t just use this as another way to flame, taunt, bully, or just belittle others?

Reading the post i thought it would’ve been a troll since it’s extremely obvious that this would be used for toxicity, i’m pretty sure others had a mutual tought.

I mean, yeah this would inherently be toxic given the nature of online gaming attitudes.

Personally, I probably would explain things through to my enemies because that means the match is more fun. But then that leads to my teammates flaming me for making the match harder. Or the opponent perceiving it as sarcasm and being toxic at any chance they get.

This is why coaching out of game is the best opportunity for this kind of thing.
Adding a feature that lets you add people reliably to things like Guilds would help with that – so people knew you were genuinely interested in playing / communicating with them.

I mean, I have tried to in the past. Once or twice.
Granted it was in scrimmages and I was legitimately trying to be helpful, but I suppose it just came off as elitist or mocking.

So I’m still of the type to be willing to try and help others – but, yeah. Really we need a proper system like Communities or Guilds copy-pasted from WoW.
In fairness, Blizzard said they are working on this.
