I know I know it’s one of the curses of this game being 5v5 which I do like but like when your tank the literal leader isn’t help lead the team that creats issues… Multiple multiple issues.
Please if you’re gonna play tank join voice, I didn’t make the game this way but you hold sooooo much power with that 1 role.

It’s not even that bad usually all I or anyone else say is just go this to counter this, or just regular coms it’s not as toxic as you’d think well depends on if its console or pc.
But not having your tank in vc in comp is low key throwing a lot of times, especially as you get higher up to like say masters gm top 500. If your lower then like diamond I’d say this probably dosen’t matter.
if you know so much about tanks and theres only one of each per game, why not play tank? seems like a no brainer

I would not effect the many many many many many many many many many many many many many games of people getting absolutely obliterated playing roadhog into junkerqueen thinking its a counter. I’d be fine in my own games sure I use coms and switch off to whatever my team needs, like I said usually its just normal stuff people are saying.
This must be a new thing. Even the Xbox 360 came packaged with a headset out of the box. I always used mics in every game for YEARS.

Some of us have likely been FPS gaming as long as you’ve been alive (Doom, 1993, later lots of Quake 2). Voice chat was never an early thing, as 14.4/33.6 Kb modems couldn’t handle that much data. I’ve voice chatted using Discord over the years, but only with friends, not randoms.

No, I am not forced to be in voice chat nor to let you backseat game my experience. As long as I am playing the objective and not actively throwing there is no issue. Most people are placed at the correct rank they’re supposed to be in. Forgive me if I want to ignore a silver or bronze teammate thinking he belongs in top 500.

Now most people are using vc as more of a overall excuse basically it gives them a scapegoat in this situation.
People who don’t use voice are always the first to tell you how bad or toxic it is and how there not like those other guys.
But the primary issue here really is A. Comp and B. There’s 1 tank. Like I said I didn’t make it this way (also I think I excluded ranks below like diamond) don’t shoot the messanger or rather the none programmer it’s just the tank holds a LOOOTTT of power a tank can hold your game hostage and won’t even know they’re throwing, at least with coms you could sort of fix that (or ya know another tank but we might be past that point) or maybe typing it out.
Ya know I always wonder how people want to be asked in comp to switch like I get you don’t want me mentioning 3-13 but like you qued comp as the primary role in a high ranked game how do you want people to ask?
You want something done a certain way, you do it. Otherwise no. You deal.

VC never helps anyone unless you are a stack that frequently plays together. Most people in this game don’t even know how to make proper callouts. They will say some useless information like “Reapers one”. Okay…where’s Reaper at?

It’s more avout the general principle of just how much power the tank role commands now, like if your tank keeps hard playing inti there counter and dying off cool down you legitmeatly will not win that game no matter how good or bad you are your skills become absolutely irrelevant especially in higher ranks.
Like I said it’s not really about the “Coms” themselves but just how much power over the game your tank has. Which is fine you can try and work with a lackluster tank but y’all need to be somewhat in the same page. I don’t care if you’re playing dva into zarya just give your team something to work with.
I already get flamed no matter what playing tank, talking in VC makes it worse.

So what do y’all think the solution should be, because if you don’t have a tank you do legitmeatly just lose, but at the same time I do perfectly understand how toxic and hostile coms can be since im in them all the time.
Do we just say oh well as the only tank we have runs it down mid for the 50th time?

it takes team working together like me and others was working quite well together on eichenwalde i was tank atthe time we wasnt using voice chat but we still got the job done and was victorious and i had made one of the final moves of the match like my team had a ana and a moira for supports while the oponents had mercy and a brig
