OWL? I watched it like, maybe 5 times? But the average player is playing the game not watching pros play it.
When you listen to the PROS instead of the community on how to balance characters, you eventually lose your player base and viewer base in OWL.

Like heres the thing. I get it, its cool to hate on OWL, but this game would be dead already without it. The sooner you people realize that OWL keeps eyes on the game, keeps money flowing into the game, the sooner you’ll understand that it should be supported, unless you want to just run meme comps in QP with 5 min queues because nobody is playing anymore.
OWL never deserved the scorn it gets around here, and you hate to see it.

No you should listen to the pros on how to balance because anyone who’s worse than them can work their way to that balance. Anything beneath is just your own lack of skill

Not entirely, the stat is average minute audience which means it has to account for all of the broadcast, and not the minutes leading up to the NBA playoffs.

It’s exactly this. Anyone whose thoughts go straight to “OWL is dying” just makes me think that they’re believing what they want to believe. The league is objectively a success that exceeded all expectations. Of course Epic wants that, too. They’re going to need all the help they can get, especially since Fortnite makes zero sense as an e-sport.

And if anything you hire somone whos done a good job.

Step 2: Add Brig
Step 3: Stand around office scratching head, wondering why people even like DPS
Seems very unlikely that they are unprofitable given the new sponsors they have signed for season 2 and the fact the twitch audience for the league is pretty steady.
I’d be honestly shocked at this point to find out Season 2 turned out to not be profitable given that Season 1 turned a profit and did not have as many high quality sponsors signed.
if he is going to the competition, it is clearly not because it was successful.
Also the faster Blizzard realizes the OWL shouldn’t be getting on the way of the game development - the better.

It is not. there are a lot of things that requires dev involvement like the team skins and programming stuff for the viewer experience.

Helping make a few in game cameras for OWL season 1 and re colour some skins isn’t exactly taking the whole development team to do.
