Good one you man! Keep it up! You still have a few more days of grind – hopefully you make it to high Gold or even Plat. Best of luck to you!

Congrats, you avoided most of the “less gifted” players on your way up. Even Moira cant help a “bad” team at times especially when someone else is playing her badly. I noticed the matches got worse breaking into silver for some reason.

good for you dude. literally just aiming will get anyone out of bronze 5. You can’t damage boost or heal someone to victory when they are shooting a wall and jumping off cliffs.

My aim is kinda terrible. I’ve always been bronze, even in overwatch 1. I didn’t even know you had to warm up before queing.

you don’t have to warm up. I used to warm up when I was bronze as well but after a while you get the hang of this game and improve anyway.

If you really care to up your game i suggest practicing in an OW custom game using a custom game code. I really like “PMAjellies”. He has an ‘improved training range’ on the training range map. you can spawn in an enemy “X” hero (who ever you pick) and it will bob and weave / use that heros abilities for you to practice hitting it. a good one is pharah strafing in the sky to practice hitting, or tracer crouch spamming + blinking.

it also has a combo practice / damage check bot. It spawns a road hog with 5000 HP and you get 10 seconds to practice combos on it. for instance you could practice being a genji, landing a spread shot > dash > melee with a mercy pocket then at the end of 10 seconds it would tell you “you did 205 damage” (for example … idk what actually that combo would do) but point is you’d know that’s a good combo for 1 shotting a target. You can even come up with all new strategies no one has thought of yet if you find a good combo no one has tried yet. like any combo you can think of is possible to test, bap window boost / ana nano / ect.

it also has a bunch of other things you can test / play with like practice dodgeing / blocking rein shatters and many other things.

aside from a straight up generic ‘aim trainer arena’ or death match custom game I think PMA jellies has the best possible custom scenario to teach you the game / warm up.

^ PMAjellies makes several different custom games but I recommend training range 3.0
Import code: DRSDD

^ this is a youtube short (less than 60 seconds) and give you a huge advantage if you aren’t already using these settings.

You are welcome  Want to be even more efficient, take mercy with you for damage boosting dps bap.

Can you tell they need healing even? That’s plat btw.
Followed by that

Oh my days, look at that juicy damage penetrating those dudes

And that’s a support hero, which makes dps role irrelevant.

Dont worry the system likes to dangle the carrot to keep you intrested. Sadly as fast as you climb you fall just as fast. Keep us posted in the next 20 days.

good for you

today silver 2, tomorrow top 500 >:)

first of all the system isnt doing anything to you.

if you belong at a given rank you will naturally have a 50% winrate and your ability to effect a game in a rank you belong in will be no better then anyone else in that match.

if someone wants to climb they have to take accountability for there own actions and figure out what mistakes they personally made and fix them. self improvement is how you climb, not luck.

if the system was holding people back then things like bronze to GM wouldnt be possible, yet a moira already did that climb last season.

VAXTA is really good too.
MHGGS is absolutely insane.

why do those people never seem to get teams with sub 1k dmg tanks or sub 2k dmg dps? The matchmaker is giving me decent matches when I hit silver 3, and as soon as I go to silver 2 I get strings of 5-10 matches that are impossible to win, so I go back down and the cycle repeats.

Judging by what you said, you’re not a DPS nor a Tank main right? So what hero are you playing as Support in your current rank? Certain Supports are better for lower ranks than others. Stop looking at tier lists on Youtube.

I’ve mentioned this in other post, but I’ll say it again - I believe the game either:

  • Places you in more difficult matches and tests if you can handle the heat. These matches will likely have everyone on the same skill level as you or better. You get this after winning few games in a row.

or

  • Places you in lower ranked/MMR games where everyone else is worse than you, testing if you can handle it too. This happens after you go on a losing streak.

If you’re at lower ranks, then the chances of finding players who underperform is higher(on both sides), because consistency is what they lack. To break this barrier, you need to be the one consistently performing and if what you’re doing isn’t enough, you’ll have to do even better.

You know that guy you probably should’ve healed, but you didn’t in time? It costed you one teamfight and made them advance further and time is key in this game. You know that guy you should have nano’d, but you decided to choose someone else? That costed you the teamfight. Or maybe you should’ve cleanse someone earlier, but you didn’t. Or you should be discording people who are getting targetted. Or you shouldn’t have used the speed boost on Lucio so early into the teamfight. Or maybe you mistimed your Ultimate – So many factors.

You will climb, I believe in you.

Then after youve gone threw all that an climbed mind you, i did. Guess what itll be season 3 and take a wild guess where theyll put you at the start of next season even if you win all 7 games no loss’s. Thats right lower then where you started.

because i dont belong in those elo’s. and because of that i carry hard enough that everyone plays better. if you belong in a rank then your effectiveness is neutral and you no longer force wins.

so lets say you belong in silver 2; you carried your way too silver 3 then silver 2 but now you cant carry anymore why? obvious answer is because you no longer impact the match as much as you think you do. so your ability to win then becomes a coin flip, where as before you were impacting it enough that the coin flip didnt matter.

the mistake people make is they believe in things like “forced 50%” and “they put bad people on your team” not realizing that 50% winrate is what happens naturally at your proper rank, and stats themselves dont matter.

a tank having 1k dmg could be because they are being countered and refuse to swap, not because they dont belong in that rank. but if a person refuses to swap you have to play around them and if you do that you can still win.

put me on bap and ill kill the entire team myself while keepin that tank alive.
