Please Buff Ana

  1. The winrate and high skill cap of Ana
    46.86% winrate (a MUCH lower winrate than any other support)

  2. People still like her
    Although she is terrible she isn’t the least picked support (that’s Lucio)

  3. Situations for Ana
    In most situations, Ana is a terrible pick and other heroes are more flexible (infact any other support)

  4. Moira in particular
    Moira took over Ana’s place and role as she was in season 3 or 4 but for the current seasons. Moira does everything Ana does but better

  5. Ana’s Advantage
    The only major advantage Ana gives to a team is her healing from a distance. That is why she is effective on only certain maps. However, in pro play - she is used with Zenyatta and sometimes Soldier to set up a nice anti-dive for the enemy team with the survivability of those heroes, but not in ranked play.
    Yes, you could say that her ultimate can be very good in some situations but it is no where near as powerful as it used to be or if you compare it to Mercy’s ultimate (especially when buffed), Lucio’s and Zenyatta’s (even Moira’s with the amount of self sustain she gets).

Please add problems with her if you have any more

Don’t give us low skill cap, unbalanced Brigitte
Give us balance changes
Give us a needed appreciated Ana buff
Give us the chance to play Ana

The only buff I want for Ana is to be able to shoot thru full-health teammates.

Would it be only healing?

That’s not up to me, that’s up to Blizzard.

You can look at statistics and really work out where Ana’s major flaw is. The design of the hero is good but really she suffers compared to the strength of other supports right now and has done for ages.

Ana brought something new and powerful to Overwatch and supports in early seasons but recently she hasn’t brought much to the game. If they didn’t make other supports so crazy and effective in different aspects - she would be fine. But because Zen, Mercy and Moira (in particular) are so good right now and dominant - nerfing them all would be a terrible idea so they need to buff Ana.

Lower cooldown on biotic grenade or a passive self heal would be helpful for her viability.

More healing = More damage?

That sounds like a great idea

  • Raise her damage to 75 so she can theoretically 2-shot Tracer.
  • Let her shots go through teammates with full health.
  • Have Nano Boost refill the target’s health.
  • Wait for Dive Meta to die down because Ana is extremely weak to being dived.

A particular fan of the first 2 ideas but the 3rd really is just unneeded and ignoring her major problems. I also don’t know your rating or if you have been living under a rock - but dive is and has been played since forever and the other compositions that may be effective are the standard Rein & Zarya (which is much better with a moira) and Orisa & Roadhog (a spam based composition which is very slow, great for Zen’s discord orb and slow enough for a mercy to get a res off in time). Even with these dominant compositions - Ana does not fit

All she needs is a grappling hook.

The sniper-for-healer thing doesn’t really work when she’s super easy to kill when left alone in the backlines. Also that she can’t actually access any sniper positions easily.

Lower cooldown allows the grenade to be used aggressively more frequently so your team can kill the purpled players while they are vulnerable. It lets her enable her teammates much more as well as being more independent.

Ana’s problem is that unlike every other healer, she has to chose to stop healing to defend herself.

-Zenyatta’s Orb of Harmony is fire and forget, allowing him to defend himself without cutting off heals.
-Mercy’s Guardian Angel allows her to maintain a very high level of mobility when attacked all while still healing.
-Brigitte heals by attacking and has a fire and forget option.
-Lucio is always healing and can disengage or duel his attacker.
-Moira can either Fade to disengage or use Biotic Orb to keep her heals going if she needs to attack something.

For Ana, she has to stop healing AND land a skill shot with a cooldown to disable her attacker or kill them, again all while not healing. Unlike other Snipers, attackers don’t even have to commit as hard to kill Ana, since her kit requires LoS on her team and the enemy AND she doesn’t have access to most high ground. Where she does have access to high ground, she can’t stay there or get back to it easily due to her lack of mobility options.

Solutions:
-Giving Ana Wallclimb would give her access to most high ground positions without giving her the mid-combat disengage of Grappling Hook. Even a slower Wallclimb would let her reclaim a position after needing to jump down to heal a teammate. Aside from supporting her primary weapon, easier high ground would also be an indirect buff to Biotic Grenade by allowing her to throw at easier and more accessible angles.
-Separate Healing and Damage into primary and secondary firing modes OR allow bullets fired to pass through fully healed teammates. Ana is the only healer that suffers harshly from body blocking, if at all. The problem is only exacerbated when you consider she can hardly afford to keep a high ground position.
-Raise her damage to 75. This is debatable, but if her problem of not healing while defending herself is going to stay (and I think it should), she should be able to tear up her opponents provided she lands the skillshots. This allows her to 2 shot Tracer, which honestly shouldn’t happen if the Tracer is good.

Let her shoot through Barriers for healing only.

Give her damage shots a -25% healing for 1 second.

She how she plays then explore other changes if necessary.
