Please address the numerous fake accounts in Bronze Competitive

Hello, I am new to Overwatch, having started in December. This season I have been working very hard to rise past Bronze status. During my climb I have witnessed a lot of second accounts or people just walking around throwing the matches. I have reported every single one, even when they are on my team. The problem I’m having is they are becoming more frequent around 1300 mark, keeping people from getting to silver. They are coordinated because they will reference each other on different days and call me out by name to harass me before i block and report them. It sounds insane and like I just cannot rank up. There were multiple matches in a row where only I was being spawn killed by two players, they let my teammates pass and only targeted me. They lost the match for their team for that reason. It’s getting ridiculous and I feel my reports do nothing, especially with them referencing me on multiple accounts.

keep reporting them. hopefully Blizzard will take action soon

note: having multiple accounts is not bad, as long as they try to play the game in all of them. when they don’t play the game, then that’s reportable.

in the mean-time find people you enjoy playing with and group up. have a look at communities that have players in similar skill to yours and group up to play together

OW is always better when playing with friends!

I agree, one issue i have is having to solo queue. I do discuss it with my team and it usually results in multiple reports. Is it normal for matchmaking to put you as the highest SR after a few loses? I was above my last team by 200+ and I ended with 4 golds as D.VA while it seemed like part of team was throwing. This happens constantly.

The solution to MOST of this is to have a damn team builder in the game, or a guild system so people can easily hop in some games with 6 mans they can trust.

You should be able to join a guild, trust your guildies, if someone is screwing around, they have people above them to put a stop to it or kick them out.

You’d be able to surround yourself with decent players, and enjoy the game.

I can’t understand why Blizz doesn’t have this in a game SO heavily focused on team work.

I don’t mind people having alternative accounts, but my theory is that people are sitting between 1000-1500 keeping a substantial amount of players from silver. On purpose.

They really don’t, actually, and the problem exists for all rank borders.

Imagine if you had a friend who was better than you and played on your account. He brings you up to gold, but you are probably only silver level of skill, so you fall back down when you play on your account again.

After a while, in order to get better placements next season (or if your friend enjoys stomping enemy teams), your friend plays on your account again. He feels like he has accomplished his job once he reaches gold again, and leaves your account to you again.

Basically this whole process repeats throughout the competitive season. Someone smurf gets to the new rank, then drops back down, and goes up again, and back down. That’s why there are particularly more smurfs near the borders

Gold borders are just as bad as silver borders. It literally took me 3 seasons to get a lucky streak + Throwers on enemy teams + Smurfs on my team to get to platinum (even though I can achieve plat consistently now).

Nobody is sitting around the border just to troll people (to the best of my knowledge), but the cycle I just mentioned keeps a bunch of very very good players at the border which they do not belong to
