With so many games on consoles offering MnK support now, this feature has become almost obvious at this point, and it is sorely missed on the console versions of OW2. There are many people who strongly prefer playing FPS titles with a mouse but cannot afford a PC who are therefore very grateful for the presence of official MnK support on any console games that offer it. There are also console fans of OW2 who have friends on PC and would love to enjoy the game as one intact friend group but don’t like the idea of facing superior peripherals while aim assist is disabled or being forced to resort to heros that require no aim which may not be fun for them. This choice need not exist, and yet it persists, serving as an oppressive obstacle to having a good time. The lack of official MnK support also serves to inspire more people to cheat with XIM etc., who then ruin other people’s experience by having unbeatable aim-assisted mouse aim. The implementation of official MnK support on consoles along with input based matchmaking would have huge positives and no drawbacks! It should hardly take any time or resources to make this happen and it would vastly improve the Overwatch 2 console player experience as well as the experience of PC players who have friends on consoles.
Edit: I also made a reddit thread on this topic.

Im tired of my wonky as heck XIM would be a nice qol update
Please at least just add it for when you’re in the PC pool.
At this rate I’m going to buy XIM. Having no support for it at all in our good year 2022 is a joke.
Its kind of a waste of money. The input gos through your controller and it creates this annoying lag. Your still gonna get stomped by pc players its only marginally better than controller
Dang. Well. at least I still have Junkrat, so playing with my PC friends isn’t an absolute death sentence.
The entire Halloween event was ruined because of this issue though. Couldn’t beat Junkenstein with my friends on PC, because hitting anything was impossible. Why tf is aim assist turned off on the funny arcade co-op mode???
Agreed, it’s an industry standard feature now

Exactly, it’s so common place now since the consoles themselves support the native input so there’s nothing holding developers back from adding it. Might as well, right? And the more big games that include it, the more commonplace it will become for people to actually take advantage of it and buy a mouse and keyboard just for their console since it will be more worth the investment, which in turn will motivate even more devs to include it, and so on. Overwatch in particular is literally one of the first games that comes to mind when thinking of games that would benefit the most from this, given how many high mobility characters there are like Genji and Tracer that controllers struggle to keep up with (esp. for tracking them but even just playing as them). Not to mention all of the precision hitscan and other aim-oriented characters. The game just feels incomparably better on a mouse, and there’s no reason not to give console players this freedom of choice to enjoy the game the way they want. Any concerns over fairness for users of either input are easily addressed by an input based matchmaking parameter that replaces the current way crossplay works.
