What? No, you’ll be fine. Sure, there are 4 enemies right near us, and I’m dead before the rez completes, but you have a brand new life ahead of you, full of promise and hope! Seize the day!

They’ve stated previously that they don’t want to do that because it feels bad to not be able to use your abilities when you want to or something.
I do wish the hero portrait over the soul at minimum would either get a spinny icon or go like default blank profile picture if someone were wanting to swap, I legit don’t want to Rez you if you’re just gonna hike to spawn asap to swap, but the game gives me no info until you do swap.

I’ve gotten rezzed so many times and immediately been put in the position of sitting in a couch while surrounded by a bunch of dudes. You know the picture im talking about. Would love to be able to be like nah and just respawn like normal in those situations.

The solution is simple.
Don’t die during the team fight 
Fr tho we would need to recover the Rez cooldown if this was the case. Although half the maps have got things you can jump off to your death, but it’s QP so it’s not like serious.
Half the time it’s just a 6v6 death match let’s be real
I want to be able to see with a little icon over the souls who’s in the hero select screen. That way I don’t woosh over to you & risk my life for a dangerous rez just to be declined and be left out of position with nothing to show for it

This has been discussed on the forums over the years quite a bit, and there are some things to consider:
- Mercy shouldn’t have to waste her longest cooldown
- We should be able to communicate (without voice/text) that we wish to not be Res’d
- It should… Ultimately… be Mercy’s final decision (because it’s her strongest ability)
I don’t think being able to refuse Res should (ever) be a thing, but there should be a way to convey you’re swapping. Regardless, there are times Ressing you will win the fight/match and Mercy/supports can usually see things on the field your dead butt can’t.
And shoutout to that teammate who flames the Mercy player in the match, only for her to Res him 1v6 on cooldown so his K/D will be that much worse

It works for rez because theres a decent amount of cast time, lifegrip on the other hand relies on split sec decisions which means having an option to refuse can never work.

a simple “plz don’t rez I want to switch” would suffice, I’ve done that a few times and no feelings were hurt lol
Another useless selfish dumb Mercy otp…
This mindset, right here, is why a lot of the heroes in this game have categorical problems.
They’re prioritising player freedom over actual functionality.
