nope. wins are a little bit easier with two, but i think the sweet spot is three in party.
you basically minimize the chance of getting a lump on your team, but don’t necessarily get tossed in with tournament five stacks

They’re really not. A good player can 1v5 and win
you can, if your teammates are not beyond hopeless… if they are . you can’t
Teammates don’t matter. Drop me into a Silver lobby and losing isn’t just unlikely, it’s an impossibility. I could be ALONE. No teammates. And I’d win.
We both agree there, but thats the rub, you cant admit they’re bad at coding but then expect their stuff to work properly.
Right? They’re not good at programming - so they’re code works perfectly? and or hitting 100% code coverage? That doesnt make sense.
There was a youtube video a while back
3 GMs vs 6 Golds.
I forgot what the results were
I never said they were bad. Just not good enough to create a game hat can treat players differently from session to session whilst having the best part of million players live.
Would be ridiculous.
It doesn’t make sense. Because it isn’t what I said.
2 OWL players couldn’t beat 5 bronze players so gl with that
The game was stacked against them for an experiment.
That isn’t the same as dropping a higher ranked player in to a full silver lobby.
Which as the guy says, would be hard for them to lose. Not impossible, but he’d have to hard throw not to win in that lobby
If what you claimed was the case, smurfing would be an utterly pointless exercise as you couldn’t carry any game.
He literally said he can win without teammates. Not by smurfing in a “full silver lobby”.
Let’s not move the goalposts.
No he didn’t. He said “team mates don’t matter”.
As in he will just do his thing and carry the game. Irrespective of the actions of his team mates.
That was pretty obvious what they said.
I know reading comprehension never was your forte but that is not what was said.
Some arrogance on their part. In normal conditions I’d back them, as the example you provided wasn’t in the base game, it was a custom lobby with adjusted balance. Which isn’t comparable.
But alone, against silvers. He’d probably be winning every fight.
Nah, I did. And I stand by it honestly. The only reason it’d be difficult is because I’m a Tracer main and not a Tank main, but…it’s not like Silvers can reliably hit my Tracer anyways.
Is it egotistical? Yeah. Is it hypothetical and meant to prove a point? Also yeah. Doesn’t change the fact that with a team I’m never ever going to lose in Silver
Yeah, I’d bet you’d win basically every fight fairly easily.
I remember in the old days of ow I deranked an account . Eventually hit a point where existing in the lobby meant I won games. Id literally stand there afk and players would negate the objective to kill me. Was just odd behaviour.
Another hyperbolic statement. You might win 85-95% if you are a top 500 player but not 100% of your games. Eventually you’re going to get leaver(s), troll(s), other smurf(s), or a matchmaker malfunction (team diff) where the enemy team’s worst player is better than your best teammate.
This still happens in about 20-30% of games. Even when you are playing at the rank you belong in. Especially during win streaks.
Also why would you purposely derank an account? If you had any credibility left whatsoever to comment on the fairness of matchmaking this ruins it.
Nope, literally 100%. Losing in Silver as a good player is not possible. It’s too easy to just kill everyone solo.
Don’t matter. I’m worth much more than the Silvers that left
Also don’t matter; they’re still taking bullets for me
I’ll just avoid them, because I’ll be able to kill their team faster unless they’re better, which is just not likely at all
They’re all Silvers. No one in the lobby is good and this makes literally no difference
There’s a reason my accounts place Diamond when I’m intentionally throwing placements to go lower. Low ranks can’t compete with me at all. Even me throwing could solo a Silver lobby. Hell, I actually did do that before on both no heal Zen and Lucio. And Ball.
If you’re Silver, it’s because you either don’t play comp at all or because you absolutely suck at the game. Average in OW is garbage and Silver is even below that
Sounds like you are doubling down on being Him. Some evidence to back up your claims would go a long way. I have witnessed top 500 players losing in gold and plat on multiple occasions. Surely silver can’t be that much worse. So color me skeptical.
I’m not Him, I’m just very good at this game
Not like it takes skill to roll Silvers, but it certainly helps in a 1v5
Roughly 44 seconds in here…1v5 with just a little bit of help from my team.
This was Diamond.
It might seem crazy if you’ve never been at the top, but it’s just not hard to roll the majority of the playerbase. People suck at this game, especially in low ranks. All it takes is a little bit of timing and hand eye coordination to drop entire Silver teams. I am a T500, but it’s not like you have to be for this.
Back then, I was bored.
Not sure how it discredits anything. But it certainly gives you a cheap excuse I supposed.
Either way. Match making in OW is dictionary definition fair. You can argue as long as you like if you think it’s good bad or whatever (although if it’s bad, why would you keep playing, unless you have zero free will). But one indisputable thing is that it is fair.
Fair
“impartial and just, without favouritism or discrimination.”
