Playing while drunk shouldn't be bannable?

(in competitive mode of course)
So I told my team during a game of comp, that I was playing a drinking game as an excuse for my bad gameplay.
One specific person on my team was triggered by this and started complaining to the other team and told me how they were gonna get me banned and all that stuff.
So it got me thinking, would playing drunk actually be bannable?
In my opinion, no, for a few reasons.

  1. How would Blizzard tell the difference between a bad player and a drunk player?
  2. Some people play better drunk.
  3. It’s basically the same as being really tired or bad at the game.
  4. It’s not really hurting other players, except maybe playing bad.

Do you agree or disagree?

Don’t be an alcoholic, and I agree.

The teammates that did this to you were just upset about the game and are absolutely wrong about the “playing drunk is bannable”

It is not against the ToS to play the game while being drunk.
Sure it might make you play worse (or better), but like you said yourself, being very tired/sleep deprived will affect your gameplay in a similar way.

The entire idea of playing drunk being bannable is just stupid.

being drunk isn’t bannable, it’s the actions you make while drunk that you may not remember why you were banned in the first place, that is probably what happened, drunk, woke up in an alleyway with a hangover and didn’t know where you went last night we all understand :stuck_out_tongue:

idk how they can ever prove someone is intoxicated or if they are just bad at the game lol

Ignore them. They’re just tilted. I bet they wouldn’t (falsely) report you if you were drunk and they won.

I once had a duo who were on a massive acid trip. They were funny…but bad. They kept just shooting Orisa’s halt at a wall and laughing themselves silly because the effects apparently looked very cool when psychedelically enhanced.

They no doubt lost us that match but there was no reason to report them. Avoid them, yes. Report them? They didn’t break any rules.

There’s no rules against it.

That person probably needed a drink

You are Finnish, I see your sarcasm.

Agree. People can do what they like in their free time. If they want to have some drinks and play some games, so be it. The people with micro-aggression issues can grow up.

It’s a commonality that people who cannot control their emotions will attempt to control other people’s behavior. They somehow think they can restrict their freedoms even. It’s everywhere.

aaah the infamous “we’re gonna get you banned”…
love it

If I had a loot box for every time someone said “enjoy your ban” to me or someone else in the match…

I’ve been threatened to get report/banned once while tanking a pug in wow… (at some point i was 5th tank on italian servers (trust me… doesn’t take THAT much)) and this kid thought he was a pro or something…

my reply:
“I’ve been playing every blizzard game on this account since diablo 2 without a single report, I’m sure your report is gonna get me banned”
It would actually be cool if anybody from blizzard could fact check that no report 19 years streak?

A lot of people these days are pretty much “Do what I say or I will report you and/or throw the game”. I am sure the majority of filed reports are of this type.

Also I doubt Blizzard would ever give you any sort of information about reports against you, but it would be interesting indeed.

Well I’m hereby legally allowing blizzard to publicly post my report list here or anywhere else. These statements can be used in court against me.
Please do I’m curious
This refers to every game i ever played that has been, is, or will be associated with blizzard entertainment

Bro, when I have a drink or two my gameplay actually improves. Including my accuracy.

Weird necro bro…

He’s clearly drunk, we should all report him for public intoxication.
