I want to start by saying that I love one tank, the whole game is faster, less shield heavy and rewards more diverse team comps. It also both emphasises that tank and also makes them less important as the rest of the team must adapt to win, instead of camping behind shields.
As a Hammond 
main i rlly like the flow of the game being faster and the enemy teams not sticking together like glue so much. It allows more potential for dive in kills, also less stun is fun even if sombra makes the game objectively worse.
However, can any other tank mains relate to me on this? I hate playing an off-meta tank like hammond now because while he works well enough, (provided the enemy team doesn’t have a sombra) people will blame you and pressure you to switch every game unless your cracked that game. One tank means objectively there are better tanks i.e. zarya.
It makes hammond a scapegoat to blame because ‘we are losing because we are not playing meta’. I’m sick of it and worry tanks will always be unbalanced because only one means no combinations so some will always be better than others.
For the record a few days ago i won 9 games in a row mostly on ball so he can win but people won’t give him a chance 
Anyone relate? just venting i’m worryed for the future of my friend if this isn’t sorted.
I’ve not seen anyone play JQ, hammond or sigma for like 20+ games now.
It’s crazy.

Absolutely, side effect of putting the most impactful role in the hands of one player, its crucial that the tank cast needs to very well balanced because of that, they need also to nerf the OP meta tanks so that some pressure is alliviated from the tank role/player.
Yet they over-nerf Genji instead of the OP tanks enabling him…

it’s sad how every game the enemy team plays zarya and then within 2 mins of me on ball they pick sombra so i eventually go zarya as well, the variety is sad

Dont get me wrong, they needed to nerf Genji, they OVERnerfed him though.
And should’ve instead focused on the tank role being so lopsided.
No one saw that coming… oh, except the community did when they announced 5v5. There will always be a top tank pick, and even back 1,5 years ago we know how bad Blizzard is at balancing stuff out correctly.
There will be a Top Tier Meta tank, while the rest of them are simply different shades of throw-picks. Right now it’s obviously Zarya, than Dva is the next decent pick, simply because DM is always up, but DVa vs. Zarya is a mostly one-sided fight anyways. Sigma is also decent, but again, gets melted by Zarya.
When they trash Zarya and DVa again, Sigma, Rein and Winston will be top tanks, gwt teashed and we have a Meta with Junker queen etc etc etc.
