Playing Even More Since S9

Season 9 has really grown on me since they made all these changes to make gameplay smoother.

The projectile changes encourage and reward going for headshots. Everyone focuses on the difficulty of hitting in a vacuum, but the hp changes requires more consistent targeting.

The crazy af gigahealing is gone. I love playing tank now because as long as I work with my DPS things actually die. On tank I am more venerable, but it’s really given me an appreciation for using cooldowns right, positioning right, and using cover correctly. I can’t do the same troll nonsense I do on Lucio where I just juke my way out of bad positions with movement.

My main has been Lucio, but lately I’ve been investing the time to really becoming good on tank and taking Orisa up the ladder with DVA and Zarya in the back pocket.

Season 9 has made me want to get better at the game. I play against these tanks and am climbing super easy right now against them because stand in the middle of the lane like they are invincible.

They are used to getting carried by supports who’d prop them up day and night while they stood there playing god mode getting shot from every direction not even caring.

Tank actually takes some skill to play now and I think a lot of the crying is just kids getting put in their place learning that they aren’t as good as they thought they were.

Almost every game tanks are still at the top of the scoreboard in elims and damage. The crying about getting instantly blown up are gross exaggerations.

Orisa for example has 3 seconds of complete invulnerability from projectiles, then she gets 5 seconds of drastically reduced damage, then if that ain’t enough she gets a Mcree (pre-Cass) flashbang + Lucio boop rolled into one.

She has infinite range so she can sling melons at them from Widow range and get full dmg with a headshot multiplier.

Ok, now on DPS Cassidy gets 6 bullets that are smaller and fire turtle slow, then he’s got the Elden Ring roll, a grenade that doesn’t do anything and about 40 percent of the health.

But no, tank players have it the worst.

It’s the OW 2 season 1 Mercy one trick complaining about getting smacked by Genji all over again.

Hopefully they don’t listen and make the tank role ridiculous like the support role is now.

Instead I hope they nerf the supports and at best give the tanks a little more hp. The only reason things feel out of whack imho is Zenyatta. High lvl tanks are dealing with coordinated teams of sweats stacking that discord orb with huge bursts of dmg.

Everyone is losing their minds like this is unfixable when one hotfix or a mid season patch tweaking a couple things is all that’s needed and this season will be even more GOATed than it already is.

With this many topics, I have come to the conclusion garrett is desperately trying to convince himself rather than anybody else.

It all makes sense now

Oh you’re still making these threads.

So are you actually convincing people? Because I don’t think you are.

Sounds about right honestly. I was mistaken, he’s convincing himself.

Can’t wait to hop on when I get off work. Maybe I’ll throw up some replay codes and a link to a picture of me buying the jellypass.

Ok? Doesn’t mean we’ll be excited to hop on.

God knows I’m not queueing for another game.

Look man, how you waste your money is your choice. You are a drop in the sea compared to whales.

I’ll post some replay codes showing me climbing.

100% agreed. The changes they made this season made it one of the most enjoyable and best seasons of all time. The era of tanks getting heal botted while standing in the open is now a thing of the past. Supports now have to contribute more to damage output to secure victories, rather than solely focusing on heal botting the tank. And tanks now have to position themselves correctly instead of just existing in the open. The DPS role now has a purpose and is actually impactful for the first time since OW2’s release.

GOATed thread response for a GOATed season. I’ll kick you a replay code when I get home so you can watch me have fun in my trash elo games.

Oh, so you don’t play any of the heavily inconsistent or downright godawful tanks, only ones that are easy to play and are consistently viable.
No wonder you think the game’s fine lol

Congrats.

Gets one reply that supports them. Immediately calls them the goat.

No, that’s called the game having a meta.

Lol, have you ever played a competitive game ever?

No, that’s called the game being in a broken state and you only playing easy characters so you can close your eyes and plug your ears to the problems lol. A meta is when certain heroes are better than others, typically because they’re broken like Sojourn, S8 Mauga or current Tracer. What’s happening right now is some tanks can at least survive for a second while others are throwers. Ball wasn’t meta beginning of S9 because he was super duper powerful, he was meta because he was the only tank capable of surviving.

Meanwhile I’ve been pubstomping with Doomfist and I barely play him lol

That’s because Doom is one of the better tanks this season due to his mobility and increased damage. When Doom dominates, he dominates harder than before, but he can also get curb stomped harder than before. He is even more wildly inconsistent.

:man_shrugging:t5: I just play Orisa cause her weapon has a similar projectile size and speed as Lucio so the practice I have translates well. She’s also fun to play cause she has all the buttons to press.

DVA takes a lot of skill actually to pilot in this meta. You can get blown up instantaneously for making dumb moves and not using high ground right.

I play Orisa because she’s easy* Fixed it for you lol

Applies to every single tank in the game lol, D.va is one of the easiest characters to maintain high grounds and easiest to avoid blowing up on.

Ok, if tank is so easy to play in season 9 can you tell them that so they all can quit whining and complaining?

Did I say tank was easy to play? No?
I said D.va and Orisa are easy to play? Yeah, sounds about right

Seems like your definition of easy switches back and forth depending on who you are trying to boost or hate on.
