PLayers: We hate burst damage (one shot combos)

Well Genji doesnā€™t insta kill though even with these buffs lol.

:sunglasses: Itā€™s not a DF punch, widow/hanzo HS etc.

Thatā€™s just your own personal opinion. Healers have been around in FPS games for a long time. All the way back to at least TFC.

The only burst damage I dont like isā€¦ rocket punch I guess? Cause how buggy it is.

Yes letā€™s try and use the pitiful sustained damage we have against the insane amounts of healing we have. That will be a fun experience. /s

Seriously though if it werenā€™t for one shots then games of Civ 6 would be shorter than OW team fights. Powercreep has affected all roles.

Not only that, but the one support who can do something about burst damage is getting that ability stripped away.

Blizzard needs to pull some of the veteran devs off OW2 and put them back on this game before it completely implodes. Iā€™m done playing something balanced by interns.

shouldnt they of added falloff range if it was to boost his close range damage?

casue everyone has always loved mobile burst dmg that kill stuff in 2sec then escape to return after beign healed to repeat.

Kinda goes with what I said in my comment; Really showed how young they are to say something like that when thereā€™s games from 1999 with dedicated healer/ supports that were FPS games

The lie REALLY needs to stop

When Ana had her 100% heal bonus grenade, that lasted for 5 seconds, allowing Ana to heal 1k hp every 5 seconds

Soldier ONLY had his 20 damage per shot, and he was the strongest DPS in the game.

Ana ALONE, without any other support, was able to keep TWO tanks at full hp without any ultimate

You would literally need Moira and Baptiste using Baptisteā€™s ultimate to equal out to what Ana could do alone, while Soldier had 20 damage per bullet

I moved from one game with lots of burst and very few sustain damage options. Where healing was powerful but did not counter burst. Where there were ZERO actual barriers and only one class that had any characteristics of a tank.

Team Fortess 2 was and is still fun because most of the weapons are burst, the healer (medic) had the means to support their team before the encounter via overheal and also have massive bursts of value via the different medi guns.

Everyone else was a dps of some shape or form. With heavy not being a tank in the traditional sense but scary if you got to close to him when a medic was taking care of him.

Obviously you donā€™t know the history of the game. Healing was in titan.

Even halo has healing mechanics and abilities in many of its iterations.

Team Fortress 2 which is arguable a pretty big place of inspiration that blizzard drew on for overwatch has both the medic and the engineer. Both being able to provide healing in their own ways.

Battlefield games have medic classes that not only heal but REVIVE people on the battlefield.

Someone never played Zen.

My headcanon is that Junkrat just start his tire and all movement it do is some kind of surprise coincidence that end up in a Goldberg-machine-like style and he is just sitting in there immovable because he donā€™t want to miss the kaboom.

So, without using swift strike, get behind someone, shoot them with all 3 knives in the back of the head, and meleeā€¦ And this is the center of your argument?

Why donā€™t you just yell at Mccree for having a ā€œone-shot comboā€? If a genji can get behind you without using swift strike (or any hero for that matter) and land 3 headshots itā€™s ā€œunfairā€ for them to get a kill? I think you need to close your eyes now because thereā€™s a few other heroes that can get a few kills by landing a few hits and hitting melee.

Youā€™re litterially holding up ONE specific situation and saying it ā€œone-shotsā€ā€¦ One-shots if you land all 3 shots as headshots and melee, without using any abilities.

Itā€™s much more common for a Genji to swift strike, turn 180, alt-fire, and meleeā€¦ But youā€™re insisting that the damage from 28 to 30 is unfair because IF they jump over you, hit you in the head with all 3 while in the air, and melee itā€™s a ā€œone-shot comboā€?

No offense, but what are you? 12?

Killing isnā€™t required to win, only capturing the objective is required to win. You can just boop all the enemies off and cap.

You talk as if Genji has to shoot three times to get his ā€œ3 headshotsā€, he does his combo in 1s and itā€™s hard to mess your 3 headshots when you fight in close range is you are supposed to be. This is the whole damn point of his buffs, to make it easier and more consistent. And his double jump is only to make it easier from him to fight in close range while the enemy is struggling to hit him.

And comparing a flanking McCree to a flanking Genji while Genji has all the tools to flank safley and McCree has none (and no one shot)??
No offense, but what are you? 12?

Youā€™re saying itā€™s hard to miss at that range, but if that were true then all heroes would be at that level of greatness.

  • Playing Soldier? Just land 2 headshots, into rockets, and melee cancel BOOM ā€œone-shot comboā€.
  • Playing Mccree? Just Press a button twice and just make it headshots.
  • Playing Reaper? Just press a button at that range, BOOM.

Iā€™m not even mentioning all the ones that are actually stupid ridiculous. Just click headshots, 4head.

You can do all the paper math you want, but everyone knows it doesnā€™t work out that way. By your logic Widow dominates every 1v6 match, as long as the enemy doesnā€™t also have a Widow.

Just to be clear, actually landing shots at that close (for all 3 to hit headshots into melee) isnā€™t easy. If it were then people would have higher accuracy averages.

zen is the only support with dps level burst damage what are you on about

Do you know what ā€œdamage thresholdā€ means?

Did you know that (before the damage increase) if Genji used swift striked instead of jumping over someone that it also results in passing that threshold?

Itā€™s nothing new, youā€™re grasping at straws.
