Played OW1 since the beta. Have all the skins from all the events. Even bought everything missing before it became OW2.
But now when I log in I don’t even have my characters unlocked. I’ve devoted 6 years of my life to this game. 3000+ hours and now my main characters are locked cuz my account is empty.
What happened? I really don’t wanna play matches till I finally get to play my mains. Let alone all my skins and golden guns are completely gone. This is the most sour experience of launch I’ve ever had. Long queue times are whatever. But lost all my stuff? Why would I even play. Next update I could lose everything again. Why bother playing

I think they are still in the process of merging and stabilizing the servers, I would wait until tomorrow and then open a ticket with blizzard if they have not addressed it.

That really sucks. Sorry. 
It’ll all be fixed though. Maybe not today but soon. Others are experiencing problems like this too.

I’m not playing until Thursday. Clearly issues today, my girlfriend is coming over tomorrow so I can’t try until Thursday. Guess I’m launching Rainbow Six Siege when I get home. Disappointing…

You only had to merge if you have played on different systems. Their email said it is not necessary if you only played on one platform.
So i did nothing too and now i miss everything. The game thinks i am a new player. Hope they fix this soon.

The beta version had way less people on it, which was the point and why it wasn’t just open. Can’t exactly test the game if people can’t even play it because everyone’s trying to play it.

Look through my forum history, this is literally the first time I have ever defended blizzard on something.
Also, I am allowed to have an opinion, and that opinion is that there are tons of games who’s launch day went even worse than this, so we can’t be mad at blizzard without being mad at the games industry as a whole.
One more thing, by my comment, I told him that he should just wait a bit before panicking. Never did I even explicitly defend blizzard anyways, I am excited for OW2, but they messed up a lot of things.
Having the same issue.
The only account I’ve got linked to my Battle Net account is my Xbox account. And I’ve made sure that my phone number is only connected to this account and no other Battle Net account. I’ve double checked and the account I’ve used rarely for OVW on PC has a different e-mail and no other linked accounts or phone number. I did not merge any accounts, because I only wanted my Xbox progression on OVW 2.
Still being sent through the FTUE like a filthy peasant… feels like a huge smack in the face after having spend the same amounts of hours and dedication as OP on the original game.

Its probably an issue with accessing the database, so they are not truly gone. They are just not accessible due to server stress.

The hell? Damn. I have all of my stuff. That sucks dude.
I lost pretty much everything too, they treated my account like it was new but had some of my skins but most of my stuff was gone and most of the characters are also locked for me even though I have all of the origin skins and a couple of legendaries for the characters i never even play as lol
