PSA for GMs: Complaining about plat players doing plat things while playing in their rank is unbecoming and just makes you look silly.

Not GM myself, but am Master. Not speaking for OP, but what they said can certainly apply in a different context. I don’t flaunt my Master rank when I’m in my gold/plat roles, but I do use it to back my points when I’m being argued against. But toxic folks will be toxic & ignore statistically superior players & flame them nonetheless.
Or insert one of two arguments. “It’s only in one role/Support’s the easiest role” or “Oh god they’re a Mercy main”.
While that may work fine in qp or pugs, it’s not exactly uncommon to hear a random gold/plat or below player shout “well my main is in gm/masters” whenever someone asks them to help the team. As far as the player in their plat game is concerned they’re just another plat player who is trying to pass blame for the team losing. It’s not like there’s an icon or border that specifically signifies “my main is higher”.

Is it a plat thing to completely ignore, argue, and flame the GM player? Just because I’m not a streamer doesn’t mean I’m bad. I swear I should change the name to Dafran. Also speaking of nice name

Every game I get 5 GM’s on my team telling me what to do. None of them can seem to carry me out of plat though.

Yeah but that never applies for me because it is my main. Somehow I still get called Gold even when I’m playing tank, in which I’m plat lol.
Well yeah in your experience that applies. I was referring to ops ridiculous claim to “why they should listen to the gm player” when they’re in a plat game likely on a smurf account or at least an alt that has no link to their main.

How about don’t tell what others to play? Want a set group to control how you want then get 5 others to play. Did you ever think that maybe they are bad at Mercy and would make things even worse?
Kinda sad also you are bragging about GM telling a Plat what to do when you shouldn’t even be in a plat match.

Yeah there are plenty of cases for each type of player. There a number of GM’s who smurf, there are a number of evenly ranked players, & there a number of sporadically ranked players. I just happen to be the latter where it’s applicable, but OP’s point is crap from the perspective of the former.

PSA for Masters: your Plat players can’t be doing Plat things if you are losing. They are probably doing gold or even silver things just saying.
Imagine smurfing in plat and complaining they not on GM level. This is plat for a reason.
