Perhaps I am missing something, but I don’t see why I need to keep doing placement matches. I’ve been playing this game off and on since launch. Does the game really need to be reminded of how I performed in competitive just a few days ago?
I understand the value of placing a player for the first time, maybe even a 2nd time, but we are on season 10 right now, which means some people have now played at least 100 placement matches. If you exclude the first 20 (s1 to s2 rank change) that’s 80 games that at this point seem to be useless.
What is the greatest SR variance someone has observed between seasons? Like 100 SR? If you won all of your placement games and they were regular games that could be a roughly 250 SR increase. Instead you can win most of your games and still decrease SR because you didn’t “perform”, despite winning most of your games.
I went 5W - 4L - 1D and lost 50 SR from my season 9 end point. I guess I’m boosted and wasted 10 matches worth of time to figure that out.
Can’t we just start where we ended last season? Maybe if you miss a season you have to do placements again.
Player A: Placed season n —> Doesn’t do placements for season n+1
Player B: Did not place in season n —> Must do placements for season n+1
I don’t even care that I lost SR as much as the games feeling like a waste of time. People don’t take the matches as seriously and it’s another 10 games I can’t play with friends < 3000.
Anyone else?
