I got into 5 placement matches where people ragequit after a decent 1st round. I ended up getting 6 losses 3 wins and a draw. From High Gold to Low Platinum I placed in high Silver and the players here play this game like Call of Duty. The DPS run in there., get a pick sometimes and then reduce our DPS output as a team. After that they start trickling in like idiots and then there is almost nobody is in chat… not even listening. Not to mention the 1,000,000 DPS Moiras that never send a sing healing orb. I ended up one match with almost 18,000 healing as Lucio and Silver eliminations.
Blizzard needs to improve their placement and ways to punish players for leaving. This is getting stupid. It’s bad enough that they don’t balance the game heroes on consoles (we still pay the same ammount of money for the game). This is getting frustrating.

I know how you feel, last season I got 1 win, 9 losses.

I’ll probably see you around. I got placed into silver this season lol. Though the players haven’t been too bad in my games.

I know it sucks to get placed in a much lower rank than your previous season, but wild fluctuations like that are incredibly rare.
It’s best to just look at your placements as ten games. Don’t worry about where you were or were you think you’ll be, just play the game to the best of your ability.
If you used to be high gold/low plat and you were placed in high silver, you will absolutely carry yourself out of that in no time at all. The difference between silver and plat is pretty extreme.

I think placements are kind of void after your first few seasons, since there’s a cap on how high you can place from where you left off.
May be why there’s lots of smurfs.

I had a season high of like 2650 or something but then Hammond came out so I was practicing with him the last week, and dropped to 2350. After winning 7/10 placements, I get 2300. Seriously? My career high is 2950. It’s such a pain in the butt to climb because even maining healers and tanks, you get stuck with people who don’t know when/when not to dive, to group up, to NOT trickle, etc… ugh.

I won 8, 1 lost and had 1 draw and ended on the exact same SR I finished last season with
The entire matchmaking experience sucks in general and has for 12 seasons. The Bliz devs don’t know how to make a good matchmaking system.
That’s rough, how bad was the loss then?
Thr problem is I can’t carry myself as a Lucuo if my team sucks…
3-2
No over times and the won by a couple of seconds. they managed to push in the last 15
This kind of thing is why I wonder why Blizzard even bothers with seasons and placements. Why not just have a continuous comp mode with periodic rewards instead?

That’s true, Lucio’s carry potential is pretty low. Obviously he can score some crazy boop-kills on maps that allow it, but if you’re always looking for boops that means you’re rarely helping your team.
Communicating and coordinating speed-boosted pushes is a big strength, but when you’re talking about scattered, uncoordinated teams, that won’t help a whole lot.
I’ve certainly seen Lucio players who are absolute menaces, wallriding in and out of combat and blasting soundwaves into their enemies with surprising efficiency, but it’s far from easy.
I hate to say it, but you’d benefit from picking up a hero that has a bit more carry potential. I’m incredibly biased (take a look at my profile if you need proof), but I highly recommend Zenyatta. He’s rough when you first start playing him, but man is he incredibly satisfying to play when you start getting the hang of him. And his carry potential is pretty substantial, IMO.
Hmm… that sounds like Quickplay. Cool, maybe i should try going Comp outside of placements this season and see how low i can go with Sombra. Bronze, here i come.
The ones from the abandons 5 vs 6 were horrible. Others were close.
