Recently finished placements on DPS and got placed bronze 2 even though i only lost 1 game out of the 8 I have played
Initial placements are currently known to be buggy and placing people low. You should quickly adjust to where you should be placed though. I started Bronze 5 and got to Gold 2 very quickly. My increments after each 7 wins went: Bronze 5 → Silver 4 → Silver 1 → Gold 5 → Gold 2. It’s annoying but at least you can make up rank quickly if the game did place you too low.

How then to be, if after already 5 qualifications, I remain in bronze 5? I play support, the last strip was generally 7-1, before that it was 7-3. And so for the 5th time. I have the biggest heal on the team, I have support, but due to an incomprehensible and non-transparent rating system, I can’t fully monitor and control my game. Maybe I’m whining, but it discourages all desire to play.
So after 5 sets of 7 wins you’re still in Bronze 5? That’s just purely a bug that they need to fix unfortunately. I’ve seen it happen to a few people so far.

Yeah, lots of people are stuck in this limbo unfortunately right now. Really sucks and support just doesn’t have an answer. I can’t confirm this is true but I heard the Overwatch development team has been unresponsive to the support team so they can’t really help customers right now. More than likely the lack of response is due to the volume of issues players are experiencing right now but they REALLY need to get a new dev post or something out to let players know they’re working on it.
