Neat idea, but it’s small and it’s ridiculously easy to destroy. It’s such a pity in comparison to Ravenous Vortex, which actually does something.
Its effective range and health needs to be severely buffed or Hog needs 2 charges of Pig Pen and he can have both down at the same time.
EDIT: After playing a bit more, I realized once it’s triggered it can’t be destroyed. That being said, maybe have it last longer as a buff; that could be another option.

You can do what intelligent Symmetra players do and just use pig pen as a distraction. Take advantage of it getting destroyed instantaneously. Especially if you cannot find a better use for it at the the time. It is decent to hold corners with, but that is a strategy for defense.
You can use it to gain a bit of ult charge on a retreat. You can also use it to inform you when someone is attempting to off angle. Just some ideas. His other buffs make it so you do not even need to touch the ability if you do not want to. He is fine without it.

It really isn’t.
A few hogs I’ve gone against have been playing around corners. They drop a pig pen behind the corner, hook and turn into the corner to pull you away and out of LOS of your team. Pig pen damages and slows you, and you’re stuck in their team

People keep saying it isn’t a useless ability, but they clearly dont have the foresight to see this is just bad design of his.
His new gameplay is as follows:
1. Place down a trap; hope to god it doesn’t get destroyed by random CC or splash damage
2. Land a hook (People seem to think Hog magically has 100% hook accuracy uptime.)
3. Hope to god the enemy doesn’t get saved by the various abilities in the game
4. Maybe get a kill.
It shouldn’t take 3 actions to secure a single kill, especially with hook being such a gamble and often breaking.
Playstyle just revolves sitting around your trap and hooking them into it. Any other use of trap is basically useless since it gets destroyed near instantly in higher elos
It is beyond me how nearly a year passed for his rework and this was the best they could come up with.

Thats best case scenario and you had to “set up” and use another skill (the hook) to make it remotely useful. Sure it helps securing the kill but it really doesn’t do anything besides that.
Above gold, people destroy junk traps all the time and this one will go out too. This trap should be just an AoE effect on the floor that he “spits” and stays active for 4 sec for example.
As someone who has been playing him all day it is absolutely not useless.

You can usually literally just run up to someone, shoot them in the face, throw the trap behind them while animation cancelling the shot, and then shoot them again without losing any time. I’ve triggered the trap pretty consistently doing that.
id like to see a buff to his breather first, but im open to the idea of giving his trap some charges
i think itll just take some time for people to get used to it, it is by no means a weak or useless ability, you can do some insane burst damage combos with it or even use it as a zoning tool
I think he is more or less back to his usual power levels maybe not as consistent or threatening.
What I hate is it’s clunky as hell compared to how smooth a hero he used to be.
It feels like they went a roundabout way to touch the nose again.
It’s like a rework that wasn’t needed in the first place.

You are preaching to the choir, homie. This was the most pointless rework I have ever seen. But nobody listens to ThiccBuddha. They just think I complain about Ana and say that every hook landed is a positional error. Maybe, if they could actually freaking read, my wisdom would have thoroughly enlightened them and we could have avoided this embarrassment.

In my time playing yesterday I only got trapped in one pig pen lol
I can’t even see the damn thing when it’s deployed and I still only stepped in one the whole day

devs said they were going to rework hog, they did the rework of hog, they never promised to make it useful.

I only played against a Diamond Hog (I am gold for reference). That is it. Once. They swapped after I killed them twice and went Dva. Yes, they won. 
I would have had a chance if they stayed Hog. Nobody ever stays Hog. That was my one experience against the rework.
That being said, I have a lot of experience against other tanks! His match up spread has changed quite a bit if you ask me. Orisa is SO much easier to play into. I wonder if people will keep counter picking her or if they will finally play the tank they actually pretend to main!

It’d be nice if pig pen wasn’t possible to destroy, but enemy shots could trigger it before engaging. A time sensitive ability.
I just don’t understand why they couldn’t give him a much better ability. I get that like he’s a junker like Junkrat and they now both have traps but….it wasn’t executed very well at all.
If they wanted to stick with the junker duo theme they could have made his new ability some kind of actual trap to where you can hook someone from. They could’ve made it soo that triggering trap resets hook cooldown. Could’ve made a scrap overload mine that explodes and anyone hit by the shrapnel would take bleeding damage. Could have added the healing cloud for breather, or alternatively a toxic cloud as the E ability.
Like there is soo much that could’ve been made and they went with a stationary AoE slow. It is getting quite tiresome seeing every new character get an AoE slow.

It’d be cool to throw a ball (like a bowling pin) that is full of scrap and when you detonate it springs into the air (like a couple meters) with radius damage and creates bleeding. It could have hp. that alone could create the chaos that he would thrive on, with a follow up hook, for example. It could also be used for enemies hiding in corners.

Absolutely true. It was super boring and I am not a fan of the overall design. Giving a CC heavy hero more CC is lame. They just nerfed the deployable meta only to add another deployable. I do not understand what they are going for here. It just seems silly to encourage “Illios Well Hog” everywhere else. It is degenerate enough near any bottomless pit, but now he can do it anywhere. That is going to annoy people once Hog players start taking advantage of that power. Dare I say it will make them regret asking for a rework.

It’s very disappointing, I thought that sombra rework was surprisingly ok (for blizzard) but this is very meh, it should at least fix his main problem of being useless vs ana, what’s the point of that rework honestly I have no idea ?
