So Mercy was meant to be a pure healer and to pump out heals consistently huh?
Then why is when her healing is literally one of the worst and I play her, people tell me to play moira or Ana (even zen) if I want to heal.
The same people who complain about mercy being fine and not needing changes and her being viable.

It’s just like the Orisa and rein situation. Orisa isnt as viable as rein so she needs buffs to compete a little. Same with mercy, but she has more competition.

Mercy is in a good spot. She’s good for beginners, and as you move up the skill ladder she fills a nice spot as a niche healer who works great in certain maps and comp synergies. Her only weakness is that she really drops off once you start to get into the highest tiers of play, but I’m kind of ok with that, because I don’t want to see OWL players picking Mercy.
60 HPS is overpowered. With that level of healing on such an easy to utilize and confirm heal, picking Ana is throwing. Buffing Ana to match will cause power creep, and cause even more of an issue with the whole GOATs problem.
So yeah, pick another support. You’re to good to keep playing Mercy all the time.

Just because Ana requires more skill doesn’t mean she needs to dominate mercy. Yes she should be a little better with requirements but not completely make mercy useless compared to her.
Also, no one is really addressing my issue about people saying pick another support to heal while also saying she is fine.
Like I said, she’s niche. Some characters have to be. They are telling you to swap because she doesn’t work on that map/team composition combination.
Unless she does, and they are just idiots. A very likely scenario with this community I’m afraid. If it doesn’t work in OWL it doesn’t work in Plat . Some people need to get real.
Keep playing Mercy if you actually enjoy her. I don’t know why anyone would tell you to pick Moira instead, she’s a very situational healer unlike Mercy or Ana.
Mercy has near zero mechanical worries and vastly greater mobility than Ana does. If she has any closer healing numbers, then yes, picking Ana is throwing.
Edit: I forgot about the self heal. Ana cannot match Mercy on the value of two long cooldown utility abilities alone, especially when Mercy’s abilities are infinitely easier to mechanically execute.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Ana is throwing. Not even close. That just means you can pick an easier hero with almost the same value or you can pick this hero with a different play style and better healing just with more mechanical skill.
I very rarely have this problem tbh. Most probably seem fine with having Mercy in my games.

That’s crazy. Mercy does not miss and does not need to reload. If they have close numbers, then yes, even at the highest levels, picking Ana is throwing. You are risking so much guaranteed healing all for the sake of slighty higher healing. So in reality just ego.

I have 10k+ average (per 10 minutes) in QP and comp with her and have only been asked not to play her once (right after the hp/s nerf). People ask for me to play her, more often than not. Of course I’m in gold, and I know it’s different at higher ranks, but she is fine where she is. She doesn’t need to be the best healer by far. There is a good variety in healers right now and she is still very good at healing.
We don’t know that. Ana got a 300 hp burst heal in the same patch Mercy got nerfed.
Mercy is the pacifist healer. She gets healing and utility at the cost of damage. Moira is the pure healer who gets healing and damage at the cost of utility.
Her healing is great. People want you to play other healers because there’s more to them than just healing (and they have a greater range).
