Phone Line to call Blizzard

Give me a break. Makes zero sense. Blizzard is out of their mind.

We reserve the right to punish you for talking about things no one in the forum can do anything about… How idiotic is that? Seriously.

The thing is, while a lot of people are skeptical of “why was I banned?” threads, hacking bans can actually come through accidentally. Anti cheat software on other games more often than not - Valorant’s one was notorious when it came out.

It’s a shame, and an even bigger shame that Blizzard just shrug it off.

i felt bad for you, and i just saw this other thread, so i figured you would want to know that it is possible to be unbanned if it really was a genuine false positive.

please be patient with the staff, as i’m sure they’re overworked due to covid, so don’t just submit a million tickets. submit one and wait for them to reply, even if it takes a while because they have other tickets ahead of you. if you do get unbanned, you mentioned you’re a programmer and were wondering if your work apps could have triggered the algorithm, i would recommend closing all applications while gaming just in case.

good luck!

I have been unbanned, We did not take this standing down!!!

all overwatch simps who been defending blizzard by simping hard despite the evidence

Writing anticheat is tricky. Some programs and anticheat software do the exact same things and cheats. If one of those nasty programs isn’t whitelisted by Blizzard’s anticheat then you might get a ban and perhaps an unban when the program gets whitelisted.

For this reason I recommend installing Overwatch (or any other “valuable” gaming accounts) to a windows boot partition (or virtual machine) that contains as few other programs as possible. Unfortunately in most cases this requires an extra windows license.

If someone’s complaining about a ban then it’s impossible to tell whether it’s a cheater or a victim of a false positive. In my opinion a fair number of them are likely to be victims with lots of crap installed to their machines.

Most of those who are using “undetectable” Overwatch cheats probably know that getting a ban means that Blizzard detected the cheat with fairly high accuracy and put it to a blacklist. In that case there is evidence against them. A lot of them know that crying on the forums would be a waste of time.

So you are using most invasive programs on the same windows installation. Bad idea.

That would give potentially valuable info to cheaters.
