Pharah was... nerfed?

One buff, one nerf, and a weird one.

I’ll gladly take the 20% movement speed increase, but why did they nerf her fuel regeneration rate?

It makes it so you can only be in the air for the first jump jet, and you have to basically drop down after that because the next jump jet recovers basically no fuel.

As for the barrage change, I don’t know. Sometimes I did need the full barrage in order to finish off the enemies. But sometimes I do wish it ended earlier. They should have just made it cancelable.

For a hero who’s never been meta but also never been bad, weird changes indeed.

I think faster movement while airborne is a fair trade for occasionally needing to ground for a second or two.

Barrage change is an overall buff IMO, but like you said it depends on each specific use.

I don’t know…

her movement is more fluid, but having to drop to the ground that much kills her height potential. It pretty much forces rocket jumping, which she can’t really do w/o a mercy pocket.

Well does it do the same overall damage? Or was the number of rockets launched lowered to match the lower duration?

if you move faster you need less fuel or you’ll bump into the skybox silly

in that 2.5 - 3 timelapse you usually die anyways, I guess the burst isn’t really affected you can probably survive your ultimate more likely since you’ll have be stationary for less time? is that really a nerf?

you don’t go upwards faster, you only horizontal movement is affect. correct me if I’m wrong.

I don’t think the barrage change is a nerf at all (since everything dies in the first 2 seconds anyways) but I think the regen rate is compensation for the increased move speed.

Actually, not really. With brig in the game, I either need the full duration to confirm the kills or I die.

Honestly no idea, as I’m not at the house to test.

Regardless, that last second is often more detrimental to Pharah then the potential missing few rockets.

it’s not only horizontal movement, anyway if you move faster you cover more space with less fuel, reducing the fuel regen doesn’t really affect it at all. same potential faster to make her more survivable… all the changes affect ther survivability against hitscans and tanks I guess

brigs hps isn’t really enough to mitigate the absurd damage of barrage though. the change hurts low accuracy barrage but buffs the high value/accuracy ones since she isn’t locked out of movement for as long. immortality field might be stronger vs barrage though because of the duration nerf.

Why is Genji allowed to get 17438 direct buffs at once and Pharah has to get 2 nerfs for 1 buff?

I think that regen nerf way too harsh (its 30%)

I take back my previous statement, you can still hover for a very long time because of the speed increase. I got about 3 jump jets off before I had to land.

Speed makes up for the fuel nerf because it is vertical speed aswell.

Duration nerf is a buff. Pharah dies too early with the current duration.

20% movement increase is worth more than the fuel depletion imo. Helps against hitscan.

Barrage change seems very smart to me. Makes it easier to use all the way to the end and Barrage isn’t lacking for damage so it’s unlikely that someone would not die because of that 0.5s.

Can you? I’m testing on practice range right now and it feels really off. I’m losing height with each jump jet, rather than gaining height like before.

they want her to be better against hitscans, im sure she can permanently fly still but the movement speed and the barrage give her more control, usually you kill the people you want in like a second anyway with the ultimate, it’s a buff

You do lose some height, yes. But I’ve managed to get 6 jump jets off before I have to land.

I think we just need to get used to the fuel management again. The more I practice the longer I can stay in the air again

I like it, overall. We can’t maintain flight for more than like 3 cycles of half-second presses and Jump Jet on CD, but we feel a lot more agile.
