Pharah splash damage reduced... this is the last straw

So it seems Pharah is getting a nerf, and now her splash damage is less but her direct-hit damage is greater; making her more like a hit-scan than a rocket launcher, genius. After the Syms 2-feet-away teleporter fiasco we now get this… I think this is definitely the last straw; the interesting side of Overwatch is that each characters play different, now that Phara needs to headshoot to damage like a hitscan does it seems like the uniqueness of each character is not what Blizzard aims for; so yeah after more than 1400 hours with Pharah plus dealing with a lot of crybabies that report if you don’t pick whatever character they ask, I’m just gonna stop playing Overwatch all together.

BTW a lot of strategy is now useless, for example destroying a turret without having to see it (e.g. around a corner) is now impossible with Phara just being a flying mcree. Also I love putting a rocket between 2 damaged enemies and killing both, its the best feeling in the world; now its gone.

There is a lot of room for a game like Overwatch where each characters have unique abilities but they need to do a better job at pulling it off than Blizzard.

They said “changes” NOT a nerf, can we wait until the PTR

So a game that involves shooting is rewarding you for hitting your shots?
Wut?

Wait, are we going to see the SCOUT-BE-GONE put into Overwatch?

You’ll do more damage for skill shots than now, But u just cant hit as many enemies now.

Well for how often Pharahs say their shots are skill requiring, now they get to prove it

To be fair, such change would make difference only to those who depend on splash hits instead of actually aiming.

People who do aim their rockets won’t be affected as much.

Headshooting? What headshooting?

:V I know peeps on console that are laughing so much.

That’s the wtf, we already have mcree, genji, widow, etc etc to do that, why we need one more character too? What’s next? Winston only electrocuting a single enemy?; this is just a change to make her more similar to those instead of doing changes that make the characters more unique #fail

yea the pharah nerf clearly shows they have no clue what they are doing at this point.

Source of this information?

Catching a Genji or Tracer who’s moving at blinding speed is countered by AOE.

If you reduce that splash damage, Genji and Tracer will maul Pharah that much easier because the missiles are already slow in flight and reducing slash damage will give them free reign.

Pharah struggles againist Widowmaker and needs the AOE to knock her off her perch.

Hanzo has a huge edge with storm arrow on Pharah and can drop 3x the damage on Pharah before she lands a killing shot.

One of the safe ways how Pharah beats out a Hanzo is ducking and chisel at with AOE slash damage. Nerf slash AOE, and Hanzo will majority of time always win.

Pharah is already weaker and picked less because the indirect nerf to Mercy. As she can’t heal good or rez quick.

Pharah getting slightly more direct damage and less AOE hurts her kit, utility over all. Unless the damage huge and shield busting…which probably won’t be.

Pharah is great with harassing a team with AOE damage, distracting, and forcing them into cover. Bigger splash damage helps go around shields and barriers. Small AOE damage doesn’t. If you want precise bullets, then snipers or hits scans is the right character class.

Because heaven forbids Pharah players actually has to somewhat HIT their enemies now. Stop relying on crutches and Git gud

Also, S76 and McCree are getting minor changes or minor buffs as well from the developer update.

This sounds suspiciously like the Junkrat primary fire nerf which made him a lot weaker but let’s see. I wonder what they are going to buff to compensate for splash damage nerf, surely it can’t be direct damage because it’s already very high? Speed of the rockets? It will make us all relearn the hero all over again.

And the timing is so weird - after the Mercy nerf and while half the forum is whining about Brig, who is countered best by, you guessed it, Pharah’s splash damage.
