First, I can deal with Pharah. BUT only IF I play hitscan. The entire point is to show how helpless a non hitscan character is in her presence to the point that they might as well not even be there
Pharah just by existing, renders like 80% of the cast irrelevant to her. Anyone that isn’t a mid to long range hitscan cannot even consistently deal DAMAGE to her. She’s the only character to truly force the other teams hand. Every other character no matter how good or bad the match up is, has the OPPORTUNITY to AT LEAST fight back. Pharah? You stand no chance if you aren’t hitscan. It’s complete luck at that point.
For example, you’ll usually go winstion if there’s a unstoppable genji on the other team to deal with him. That does NOT mean you HAVE to go winston for genji. It just means winston is better at dealing with genji than other characters. Anyone can have the OPPORTUNITY to actually be able to deal with genji, it’s just winston is better at it, so you go with him.
Pharah on the other hand, completely forces the other teams’s hand. You CANNOT win against a solid pharah no matter how good or bad you are if you do not play a small portion of the cast. Actually, you can’t even consistently harm her.
Doomfist? You lost at the start. Just by her existing completely nullifies your entire character to the point where he doesn’t even have the opportunity to stand a chance
Any projectile based here? Irrelevant. They don’t have the option to deal damage to her consistently. She can just ignore them.
The only characters who stands a chance not even at countering, but just as being able to consistently deal damage to her…are mid-long range hitscan heroes. But even those small bunch of heroes do NOT counter her. There’s a big difference between contesting and countering.
Being able to deal damage consistently is not “countering” it’s contesting. Hitscan heroes are the only ones who can contest her, making every other hero completely irrelevant. No matter how you try to look at it, that is not fair. Not even having the opportunity to fight back is not fair.
You realize Pharah takes a lot more skill than most of the hit scans your complaining about that can’t kill her. Her rockets travel so slow, and if you are in mid-range to land rockets safely you can get 1 or 2 shotted by almost any hit scan in the game far easier than you can kill them. Not to mention new Hanzo is basically at hitscan at mid range.
Pharah’s spash damage is so minimal you will never die to it especially if you have heals, only direct hits do damage and those are much harder to land, and even then she cannot one shot anyone. Yet a wooden arrow can…
You play nothing but Roadhog, of course you are going to think shes godly. You have no shield, no range, your free ult charge for her. You realize just because your hitscan players on Xbone can’t land shots doesnt mean PC players can’t.
Pharah is incredibly easy to deal with in game, she can barely get an ult off without dying.
Definitely interesting, to me Pharrah is one of the most interesting characters and the reason I bought OW after playing the beta. I was fascinated by such an unconstrained character in a shooter.

You’re talking complete nonsense. The only two hitscans who can effectively deal with Pharah to that caliber are mccree and widowmaker. Soldier and bastion CAN CONSISTENTLY deal damage to her, but not to the extent like mccree or widow both of which takes a lot more skill to fight her.

You didn’t read my post. That isn’t my point. For the heroes that ARE NOT hitscan, they don’t even have the opportunity to consistently damage her.
You are playing on Xbox, I am playing on PC. I can 100% guarantee you that she plays and feels different on PC. While playing Pharah you have to take into account your hovering and aiming. No one else needs to do trigonometry just to land a shot in game.
And you are wrong about Widow and McCree being the only ones, Soldier can trash a Pharah easily if he can aim. If Pharah is sitting so far away launching rockets and you are getting hit by them then thats on you. They are so slow you can easily dodge them, thats why I brought up the point that if she moves in to a range where she can easily hit people shes a sitting duck.
She takes way more skill to perform at a level you are talking about.
This is why you don’t assume and go strictly based off one of many profiles. i no longer play Roadhog. As you can see, this profile hasn’t been active in overwatch in like the past year.
You completely missed my point as well. Pharah can be dealt with IF you play HITSCAN which is NOT fair for every other character in the game

Lol, do you think shes the only hero in game that you NEED to play something in order to beat her? There are several heroes that you need to counter in game, you cant be upset because you cant kill a mercy as a Roadhog from the ground.
As a projectile player. I find that zen is pretty good at shooting pharah. Like discord and kill her myself. Not just discord. Not pharmercy of course.
Well. And I could just go with airshot pharah. That’s kinda riskier. But when the enemy pharah terrible at airshot. It’s very effective.
I disagree with this statement. Based on the post, you are basically suggesting that only McCree, Soldier 76, and Widowmaker can be effective against Pharah. This is not true.
D.Va is probably the best Pharah counter. She eats rockets and can fly into her face and practically delete her.
Sombra can kill Pharah. If she gets a key hack or EMP off, Pharah is toast.
Hanzo is not bad at all against Pharah now. You definitely can deal with Pharah as Hanzo.
Zen is not bad against Pharah. His orb of discord makes her an easier target.
Now, those are the best counters. But there are others if you are good that can fight back. I’ve never really felt completely helpless against Pharah as Orisa. Even Hog if she gets in hook range can handle it.
Point is you have options that you aren’t considering.
