Did Pharah used to be a school bully or something?
Yes. She used to beat up Junkrat and steal his lunch money all the time
the Rat deserved it though, so everyone is OK with it
Not a fan of the new “gym bro” Pharah.
Bring back boring corporate Pharah with mommy issues.
Don’t forget her even cringier line
Lucio: Show me your fighting spirit!
Pharah: rAWRRRRRRR~!
Lucio: That’s what I’m talkin about!
Mommy issues? That might explain the bullying.
This is too much characterization for a flying cardboard cut out.
They made hanzo an emo
Behold, Flanderization.
It happens, it isn’t going anywhere.
Jock Pharah is her status quo now.
i mean…she does have mommy issues growing up. (her voice liens and stuff basically show her mom was strict and she was never proud of her)
that can lead to becoming a bully.
Indeed, some of the new voicelines seem to not match their original personalities. Examples:
Junkrat’s new voicelanes makes him look like a nerdy loser instead of a criminal Psycho.
Dva now sounds more like a stupid aggressive and mean bully instead of a nerdy annoying girl.
Soldier sounds now like a bloodthirsty marine obsessed with patriotism instead of his old “vigilante” attitude
They took all the characters and made them bullies, pretty much. Nearly everyone is an a-hole now. The characters that aren’t (Junkrat, Sigma) are bullied by all the other characters. Sigma is nice to everyone. Everyone’s interactions with him are insulting him and calling him crazy and telling him to shut up.
Devs I guess saw that most people who play Overwatch are toxic so they made all the characters that way. We’re supposed to find the insults towards Sigma hilarious because we’re all toxic and enjoy bullying, I guess.
*and Brig
Seriously Brig just somehow keeps getting sweeter and more adorable
I just heard her line when she eliminates Lúcio last night and it’s just heart-melting asdfghjkl; she sounds so sorry
I was probably in my teens before I figured out that American kids have to pay to eat at school. Dystopian.
Reaper sounds like a push-over, now. What the words happened to my high-functioning psychopath with an utterly bitter hatred for all things Overwatch?
I got no idea what lines could give you that idea tho. Watch Ana’s origin story, she basically comes out of shadows and re-joins the fight because she knows Pharah needs being protected (among other ppl)
She even has an emote where she looks at a hologram of young Pharah lovingly
the only negative lines they have are Ana not wanting Pharah to join Overwatch “That’s not the life I wanted for you” because she knows how much herself has suffered during all her fighting but that’s it

I really love Brig’s character. She’s so loyal to her cause and joyfully positive.
Her “Breaking me down just builds me up!” line wins me over every time.
You know now that I think about it your right lol even mei bullies junkrat
[Forget who says this]
“Your mother would be proud of you.”
[Pharah]
“You obviously don’t know my mother very well.”
Then the “When are you coming home?” interaction.
Ana was doing her best to quash Pharah’s dreams of being an Overwatch agent to protect her. Likely she knew the internal conflicts happening in Overwatch and wanted Pharah to be as far away from that as possible. Couple that with Ana faking her death and Pharah just recently finding out her mother was alive and away all this time and–boom. Mommy issues.
Bullies usually do get into law enforcement…
As well as being tall.
That line is just PERFECT for so many reasons. It’s almost like she’s self-aware of all the nerfs she’s gotten. We remaining Brig mains should definitely treat it like a motto
