I believe that Pharah needs to be looked at more closely because she is extremely unbalanced and it’s very easy to get value with her. It’s very frustrating for those who play against her. I played 40 matches this season and of those, I only lost 3. Of those 3 losses, 2 were because someone left the match and only 1 was a deserved loss.
The thought process should be: Just have the DPS pick hitscan to counter. But I tell you, none of that will counter me. I will play safe, using cover and vertical mobility to my advantage. I will wait for the best moment to catch you off-guard and delete you in an instant with one direct shot, booping to disrupt your aim and finishing you off. It must have been incredibly frustrating for those who played against me in those 40 matches, with not much they could do, just sit and watch their team get destroyed. Is winning gratifying? Yes, but from the moment where the fun is only on my side and it makes the game extremely boring for the other team, I can’t find much gratification in it anymore. I am at a point where I feel that the victory is no longer deserved because it comes without effort. I am willing to sacrifice my main hero for some change to be made and not make the game so boring.

Do you think it would nerf pharah enough if her projectiles were slower, had less splash radius or damage nerfed enough that it would take more than 1 normal and 1 mercy boosted rocket to kill a 250 enemy?
I don’t remember exactly, but I was alone in all of them, not even in a duo.
I had some matches with a Mercy, but they weren’t pocketing me.
To get great value with Pharah, you don’t need a Mercy pocketing you.
You just need to be in the right place at the right time and use cover properly.
Take too much damage? Fall back, get healed, and return.

That would likely be too far. It would make more sense to add more anti-air options. Rammatra’s was a joke and yet it was one of the only times they actually considered the idea…

Increase the cooldown of her horizontal mobility. Done.
It really is that simple imo
I was suggesting that maybe one of those choises could be enough, but perhaps i wasn’t clear about that.

I remember when people complained that it was unfair that she could stay in the sky forever and it made it impossible to interact with her.
At the time, I had warned that if they remove the ability to stay in the sky forever they were going to have to up her mobility in another way.
Now, people have what they wanted. A more mobile Pharah that has to touch grass at least 30% of the time. The good pharah’s were already doing this before, but now they have an additional mobility option.
Keep Pharah as she is. It is what the majority whined for ages to get.

Just apply dps passive to her whenever she is airborne
call it air friction.

Doesn’t help with her getting damage boosted. But that’s one way to mini nerf her i guess.
Apply dps passive to that mercy too when she is tethered to pharah in both cases dps passives stack when actual dps passive is activated.

Sure. I despise pocketing pharahs anyway, would be a good reason to avoid it further.

If you don’t mind my asking, what rank are you in? Or I guess what rank did you start in and which did you end in, since you must have climbed a bunch with that win rate.

I don’t think I could be considered “qualified” enough to speak on this since I haven’t played the game much since last season’s mid-patch, but…
The person I watch to know the state of Reaper in high level play (aka the number one Reaper player in top 500, Choiceisme) has been actively counting the “number of games ruined by moth” (moth being Echo and Pharah). He’s also made several comments on how Reaper is basically unplayable even after the buff because of Pharah.
I think this corroborates your points.

giving her E damage wasn’t necessary in addition to the gatling gun buff to her fire rate, you die super fast now
I felt it was odd when they did her mini “rework” while also increasing global health that they increased both the the damage and speed of her rockets at the same time, instead of just testing one.

pharah will always be op as they simply dont care ive never liked pharah even back in the ow1 days
I was watching his video earlier. I’m hoping the dev team spot the issue with her being so dominant sooner rather than later. The amount of non-ranged characters who are in bad match ups with pharah and echo by design mean Pharah shouldn’t be a hard meta/must pick character outside of low ranges (where mechanics and aim are poor).

I love posts like this because it embarrasses the people who said Pharahs rework made her terrible

I’ve made 3 posts about her. First one had people telling me to git gud. Second one had a few agreements. Third actually started seeing people talking about nerfing her and calling for change.
Point is, thanks for making this post. She’s a HUGELY underrated, power-crept nuisance right now and the playerbase is catching on.
1.5 months ago she was in 1 out of every 15 games. 1 month ago she was in 1 out of every 12. 2 weeks ago she’s 1 in every 8. Now, she’s rolling out as a first pick in nearly every game I see. This started dominantly as a Gold - Diamond issue, but watching Jay3, Warn, Guru, Flats, Emongg, Bowie, etc. – It’s an issue even in GM+
She’s very good right now. Needs a little nerf. Her boop is crazy with a quick cooldown. Her damage is a little overtuned but honestly not even the worst; her firerate and average reaction time to her is the worst of the kit. Her mobility and repositioning, coupled with her IN THE AIR playstyle, her splash damage, her boop on her projectile, her ability to abuse Mercy’s damage boost once again (arguably not even in the top 5 of her worst traits now), and her popularity demanding 1+ hitscan to be a mandatory pick …yeah she’s oppressive and annoying.
