Petal platform problem

So many times, Lifeweaver´s platform ends up next to some wall - not able to work and go up. Sometimes it seems like it´s matter of a few pixels - soometimes it´s poking a little more from wall and works, sometimes it doesn´t.
It might be a skill issue (of throwing platform), but considering that thing bounces, before turning into one - this is pretty annoying.
Can you do something with it?
The way how this thing interacts with objects and walls is crazy and makes this ability unusable sometimes.
I add that to my complain about his ult tree breaking down after interacting with wall… :no_mouth:

I feel like it has hige potential, but yeah it’s definitely got some quirks to work out.

But I think his ult needs fixed first. It needs to be smaller or able to be walked through.

Ult´s size is fine - it´s meant to block dmg and it really works great against Diva bomb for example…
They just need to fix his stuff interaction with objects.
Sym also makes light stuff, but those don´t break or go unusable, when they interact with walls.
They need to stop treat LW´s kit as Torbs turrets. His tree is way too big to get this treatment, it´s an ult and his platform should work all the time or bounce/appeare next to the wall, not in it.

It definitely has its benefits. But it’s awful how many spots it can completely block off movement. And it’s actually worse for the teammates than it is the enemies.

Which is actually how I feel about most of his kit. He’s the type of hero people are gonna hate to play with and love to play against.

It´s true, that I blocked my own team mates unitentionaly and got destroyed by them xD
Maybe it could work like a shield - block damage - walk through.

Fr, it’s the type of interaction where nobodies really to blame, but it feels so jarring sometimes.

You can block Dva bomb with a pencil if you block its centre of mass. Which is a small orb at its centre.

Did you really not know that?

You talk a lot about the game but don’t seem to understand it.

But then you didn’t know what ‘ally’ meant either.

Wow…where is this comming from?
I know it can be blocked literaly by a lamp post, but than you need such team mates, who knows, how to position themselves behind small objects on map to survive…which they usualy don´t do, so I guess I can be happy as a support main, that I can save them with my ult…?
Idk…did I hurt you in past or you are just having a bad day?

And what “ally”…?

The individual petals obscure so much of my view and firing lanes when I’ve tried to take advantage of it with Support and DPS heroes that I just gave up. It is less of a platform and more of an elevator. I wish they would just make it a circle so I can easily find the edge of the tiny space.

I feel this in my soul. So many times I’ve thrown my petal to get away from danger, only for it to clip into a wall and not work at all. Also, recently, I threw my petal down for my ulting Cassidy, only to have a nearby enemy Mei’s wall eat it. It was the strangest thing to witness.

I do love using the platform, but it’s seriously wonky and collides with the terrain on so many levels. Not to mention I should be able to see through the petal to know what’s going on beneath me.

It’s literally supposed to be used as a blocking ability. If you can’t walk around it it’s working as intended.

The problem is it blocks teammates too. I can only speak for myself, but I find LW’s ult more annoying as a teammate than as an enemy.

A basic collision problem is a lot of the issues, same thing as Symetra’s TP or torbs turret suffers from. You place it, it says it’s a valid spot and then it blows up because it clips something.

The flower petal doesn’t blow up most the time, but it will stop going up or something else in my experience.

I also hate how sensitive it is and little warning you get. I understand from the “trapping an enemy” perspective and making them go up. But when it’s an ally without communication most the time they just walk off. Because if your already moving you will already walk off before you notice the rise.

Instead of rising,(like my disappointment), it should work like a spring board.

It has to be fair, what if mei wall only block the enemies but allow teammates to pass through freely. That would be so op.

I’m not saying that it should allow teammates to move through it. I’m just saying that blocking teammates is one of the big issues with it.

Yeah I agree. Just like mei, lifeweaver players should be more careful with placing the tree to avoid hindering their own team instead. But if the tree size got reduced, LW mains may see it as a nerf. Give them time to figure it out, it’s still a new character after all.

Mei can cancel her wall and wall is just an ability. Lw’s ult can’t be canceled and even if it was possible - it’s ult, who would wanna cancel it?
