Yeah its different type of game but it could work here too, in ow1 it was working well except once when it always gave Mercy more and took less, maybe it was like season 4 ow1 if i remember right? Suddenly all Mercy were GM. But otherwise you got more for win and lost less for lost if you were playing well.
The outlayers and problems are all fixable and they can tune it regularly.
It feels so terrible in ow that no matter how good or bad you do, you will lose or win randomly. Once you reach your mmr its just like a movie, you can do nothing and get steamroll win and get 20+%, or you can be best in the match but lose because your team was bad.
Ranked feels so bad in ow and so unrewarding. Yeah it works, if you play 200 games per season you do end up in rank you deserve, iam not talking about elo hell. But is it fun? Absolutely freaking not.
In Val, if you do very well you even get points for draw, a lot for win you carried or you lose just little if you perfomed so good and lost, at the same time if you trash, you will be punished, thats how ranked should work, it feels infinitely more fair and satisfying.
OW ranked is a massive joke to be honest. It became mode to grind comp points, it doesnt like ranked anymore, also because of all the change since s8
I prefer ow but the system of everyone being equal is tragic. Atleast we should have 20% base and 5% on top of it based on perfromance.
Everyone in the match with current insanely terrible MM having to lose or get same % after the match is unfun and unrewarding.
Even if guy throws your game, you will lose same point like him, all you can do it is wish that he gets banned and doesnt create another 50 smurfs, and no they dont get banned, met in the years same throwers multiple times.
OW had performance based SR gains before but it was removed because people were gaming the system to climb. I dont play Val but it seems to me that game is more individualistic with a lot of carry potential so maybe it works better there.
They just gave up on it instead of trying to fix it, it was atleast better then what we have now. I lost all motivation. I reached t500 13 times since 2016 and now they are âresetting ranksâ except its all a lie, iam Diamond after reset and just played with t50 each role in last season lol, whats the point of fake reset if your matches are with same people like before? Only force you to play more, nothing changes, fake grind, now i need to play 100+ comp games again to reach low gm probably, games being stomps on one or another side, without much ability to change outcome, no thanks.
Ranked mode should be totally reworked from the ground. They even came back to SR system from 2017 after trying many different nonsense lol. Maybe ow3 will be just ow1 with all the hundrets of downgrading updates removed in last few years.
Iam just angry at the game, all my friends left due to ow changes lately and worst thing is that i cant blame them, its been a quick downhill, especcialy from S8, missing my favorite game, it became a joke
From when are you playing it? You think all the changes like increasing already huge hitboxes, increasing HP, buffing tanks etc. were good?
I thought i will get used to it but i just hate it even more, its not the ow i loved, Tanks were perfectly fine in first seasons of ow2, hitboxes never needed to get bigger and the hp was core of ow and stable for 7 years, it messed up the game.
Blizzard is just too lazy to design a system for estimating skill with different heroes.
And the fact that the game canât estimate performance just makes it more questionable how(if) the matchmaking even work.
I dont get why we are going backwards with everything, i remember many very intense matches in ow1. Now? Its extremely rare, we usually just roll that i dont even know how every enemy is dying, or we have match sometimes (not rarely) with ZERO kills as a whole team, its messed up
Pbsr is only useful in lower ranks to quickly move smurfs to a more deserved rank. Even in OW1 it stopped being a thing in diamond+ because everyone understood that stat farming does not mean youâre actually having game changing impact.
I get the frustration but pbsr is too exploitable for use in higher ranks. See: Mercy mass res abusing the on fire mechanic to create enormous sr gains with tiny sr losses for a playstyle that was effectively throwing.
