Overwatch seems to be having latency issues on its US servers (again). Zero network usage on my machine except for Overwatch. No other device is reporting internet usage on my network. This issue has been present for two days. Fix your servers. Discounted skins apparently also discounted available connections…
Update: Joining a different server had me at 53ms, which is slightly higher than normal. However, halfway through the match it spiked back to 130ms, which has been on par for the last two days. Again, the only device using internet on my network is my computer, and Overwatch is the only resource using any network. The issue, therefore, are the servers, again.
I keep joking that the servers burnt down (joke in bad taste due to the California fires, I know), but maybe there’s something to it? I have fiber internet and get good connections to everything else, it’s just overwatch giving me consistent high ping. Someone in my match just checked and said we were routed to Japanese servers? how?
Same here. I have fiber with no issues except for this game, which is par for the course. I haven’t heard of any routing but if they’re gonna do that they need to fess up and say something.
Seeing this as well. Last few days I’ve been having 170+ ms latency when I usually have sub-40 ms latency. What’s strange is that the deathmatch lobbies between games are usually still fine, ranging between the normal ~40ms ping and ~110ms ping. But once matchmaking puts me in a game, 170+ms again. This is making the game unplayable.
Just to add more detail, I’m seeing this persistently happening in Team Deathmatch queue games, and most of the other people in the lobby are complaining about the lag, too. It’s not an issue with my network connection. I’ve got 3gig fiber with great pings in other games.
