Perks will cause more Unbalance in this game

I get they want to make it fun and bring some fresh life,
But on a player base already on a sort of Tight rope with the Balance already.
This isn’t the right move, You are going to have the current balance matched with more ways to break and Ruin it more.

Ana headshots? Really? as if the tank community already is fed up with her.
Orrisa getting a Javelin that can just fly through everyone? Uh huh goodluck killing that. (i can’t wait for mauga to have lava stomps)
“psst it’s me the torb Turret stuck out of map on the wall shooting you, What? i’m sorry the dev’s can’t fix the bad map designs so i can hide here.” Trust me people will find ways to do this.

It may seem good on paper and may get you hyped to see something new.
But i just think this will force more people away from the game because the current issues of Meta and balance are just going to further tick off, annoy or De-rate Peoples plays.

They need to test this first in waves and see what they can balance out, Each Hero needs to be “LOOKED AT” to see if they need to move, reshift or test out a new way to keep them, fun, but not Broken.

we have overpowered tanks, Healing creep, Mobility creep and a terrible match making system. We are just adding Broken perks to this list of stuff as well. and the battle between 5v5 and 6v6 still on onslaught.

I’m up for Perks being tried as it brings something new.
i 100% think that they can’t just slap this band aid on thinking it will fix the problems when the above is mentioned. Blizzard you need to take a little time and go through every single hero’s Dmg, healing, skills, kit and the environment they play in and around with teammates.

Because most players will play this and then it will sour. and they will just go back to other games.

How do you guys feel about these being added in game or you excited to see these or are you worried about issues? Comment away

The perks system looks like the Junkenstein mutations we did for the Halloween event.

Sure it was fun and chaotic as an alternate mode, but as a support main, it became a nightmare to deal with because it was much harder to predict incoming damage or guess enemy cooldowns, because you have no idea what the enemy has until they use it. It’s hard enough to keep track of everything every other player will do. Now imagine having to keep track of every other player’s chosen perks?

I think it would be great for an Arcade mode, but as the regular mode? I don’t like it at all as a longtime support main. It’s also going to make dps mains that queue support really bad at supporting anything, because their first instinct will be to dps and not keep track of the other 9 players abilities and cooldowns.

The non-dps roles will become less relevant and the priority is going to be what perk scores kills faster. So you can forget tanking or supporting. This is a big step towards washing down roles and making everything a dps hero. Dramatic but this is what it looks like. I don’t like this idea at all.

False. More options makes things easier to balance.

OW was already balanced to the point that 25 hp on tank microbuffs and 5 damage in dps micronerfs shifted the meta. The game was in a completely solved state and this is a major shakeup.

Which is why the game has become more and more balanced each time they add a hero right?

It’s just more variables, which just means it’s harder every time

I’m more concerned with perks reinforcing existing play disparity. Some popular characters got amazing perks, while less popular ones got perks that are situational or have massive drawbacks?

Perks need some more testing before being sent live.

In theory. But with these developers? Eh. You can already see the problems.

Overwatch poor balance is due to the garbage balance team who think win rate is the only stat worth looking at. They literally buff meta heroes all the time.

Riot games balance philosophy is to add an endless number of variables and they created the most successful esport in the world. The more variables there are the more ways there are to deal with something and the more ways they can nerf or buff something.

The more you add, the worse balance gets. That’s just how it works.

You gotta think of it like an actual scale and you’re putting objects of different weights on it every so often. You’ll never get it balanced if you keep putting stuff on it, just how it is.

TBH if perks goes live in comp and in every damn mode along with bans I think I’m out. Rivals looking good.

They aren’t doing it in phases specifically because people would be averse to trying them out.

Neutral, I do think it’s what OW has to do in order to stay relevant in comparison to it’s competition. But I also feel for those who would rather stick to OW2 as is.

this cutie <3 Rein buffs!

well actually, having more variables does make a game easier to balance.
because you have more paths to manipulate to bring things into balance without making the characters all feel the same.

once you hit a certain amount of characters, adding new ones without the new ones feeling the same as old ones becomes harder the fewer variables you have.
