So blizzard launch an article about peripherals on consoles. I understand that the mouse and keyboard is a major issue in the OverWatch world. But I’m concerned about the uses of keyboard that’s attached to the controller for in-game chat. Is that included as a peripherals device? It’s very complicated to use control to type in chat when you don’t have a microphone, and without that controller keyboard it’s going to increase afk’s because the length of it takes for a conversation to be tight with a control by itself.
They are trying to deal with devices that imitates a controller.
Keyboards and mice don’t do that
In my experience if ur using a keyboard even for typing it’s for nasty reasons. Do u can flame ur team or spend half the match arguing. Get good with short sentences. We don’t need a novel in our games
I’m assuming novel is referring to yourself. I was playing this game while you was still being birth
Get themmm!!!
That part mhmm
Yes, you’re not definitely buying a keyboard to compliment enemies
KB&M is not supported on Console for gameplay. They’re looking at banning players who use devices that allow the use of KB&M but imitate a controller input.
It’s not a fully keyboard it’s a small keyboard for typing only is what I’m asking. Go to Google Search and type in PlayStation 5 controller keyboard
I still don’t understand why they brought in text chat for console. Nobody was asking for it. It would have been better for the community to remove it from PC.
Now your answer sounds legit I have no clue what everybody else is talking about. So it doesn’t refer to the texting keyboard that comes with the controller
As long as it’s an officially supported peripheral, you don’t need to worry about it.
That’s correct. It refers to devices such as XIM, and Cronus Zen. These devices spoof a controller input (among other things), so you get the benefit of using KB&M instead of a controller while also getting aim assist and playing in Console lobbies.
Unless you are using a device that spoofs the controller input, you won’t be banned for using a keyboard to type.
Unfortunately, some players on console have been using devices that allow them to use a mouse and keyboard while tricking the console into thinking that the inputs are coming from a controller. While some use different peripherals for accessibility purposes, some players take advantage of aim assist while using peripherals that were never intended to benefit from this feature. For our purposes, we call these devices “unapproved peripherals.”
If is a device approved by sony, in your case, I highly doubt that they would anything towards your accessibility purpose
I think it is more so for the device where the M&K imitates as a controller.
You have absolutely no reason to be concerned. You can use keyboards to type, just plug them in and use as normal.
The only time you need to worry is if you use a spoofing device that makes your keyboard (and mouse) appear as a regular controller in Overwatch. Typing text via USB keyboard or one of those controller add ons will not trigger this behaviour at all.
