Performance drop after patch

My fps have been lower after the new patch. All my drivers are up to date. Is the game a bot harder to run with the recent changes?

I’ve been having the same issue for over a week now. My fps have gotten as low as 9 lately, and the game is unplayable. My drivers are up to day much like yours.

I’ve personally noticed that the OW application runs two instances, and crash handler pops up with them in task manager. If I close one, they all close. Have you noticed that too? Or is it just frames?

I hate to ask a question under yours, but I haven’t seen much talk about this at all. Really hoping it can be fixed.

Hey there, no crashes for me. Just lower fps. Game’s always playable on my end.

Glad yours is playable!

As far as lag goes, my friends and I have talked about this recently and they’re all experiencing some sort of latency lately. I’m starting to wonder if it’s on Blizzard’s side honestly, because we’ve all run most solutions we know of. Update drivers, tweak in-game settings, reset game settings in Bnet, re-install, cap fps, run the repair scan, reset/lower graphics settings, and the ones who can still play still have the lag issues and frame-drops. We’re still searching for more.

It’s a strange thing. I really hope you can find a fix though! And thank you for your reply by the way. It really seems like ow2 might possibly be a bit harder on the pc.

Something has changed with the netcode.

I used to get extreme judder from launch until a few patches ago when playing on high latency servers, the game now plays smoother but hit rego is off and players move abnormally quickly when I assume my game catching up when there is latency spikes or dropped packets.

The netcode in OW2 has always felt worse then OW1 and the server issues early in the games life just exacerbated and masked the issue.

are you playing connecting to EU? Ever since last patch they added a US game server to EU lobby, I know cause my exit lag picked this up and its ruining my performance that I am making connections to EU and US. I Spoke to exit lag and they told me its from the game lobby, not their side.

No unfortunately, I’ve been connected to the Americas.

Same here this was happening when overwatch 1.0 was around for me. i have an amd fx 6100 and radeon rx 580 4gb but when the game came out they fixed the fps problems and now again the game is unplayable and i am getting sick of this crap happening

Whats ur average fps was in ow1 and now in ow2? Ur bulldozer is OC’ed? My config is fx8350 @ 4.2 and gtx1060. i cant get stable 144 for some reason. I was enjoying 250-300 fps at launch but its actually unplayable for me now

Before ov1 had issues 145fps on high settings And when it had problems 10-30fps… Season 1 of ov2 165fps because of amd fidelity fx and now with both fidelity fx and having it on low with problems 10-25 fps besides the main menu

Hey guys, see my posts in other threads describing how to change Windows’ power plan options. This fixed most of my frame stutter and drop in fps performance after the late November patch.
