People who only say GR when they win

That’s pretty weird.

In the past 5 games I’ve played, 4 of which had people say GR only when they win the round, then stay quiet when they lost lmao. That goes for our team too. Of course you are allowed to, but it just makes you come across as a sore loser. I’m not ranting because I just lost a game (which I did), I’m ranting because people don’t seem to understand a GR means that the round went on evenly with both teams having a fighting chance.

Thank you for coming to my Overwatch talk.

or saying gg only when they win lmao.
there are plenty of bad winners and bad losers in this game. Whenever any of my teammates mocks the other team, for winning, I confront them and they get all obnoxious. I remember one saying I was a trash person who should die for telling them not to be a bad sport :sob:

I always report GR…
Doesn’t it mean “get Rekt”?

Literally gg, gr, glhf don’t mean anything. I don’t know why you people hyperfixate on the implied “shade” or whatever to begin with.

I know what those mean, and it actually doesn’t get to me anymore as it did like two years ago. I only confront my own teammates now. I don’t want people to feel bad.
Besides, it’s easy to know when a player is using it with bad intentions. There are many who don’t tho.

“It was a good round…For me!

It’s so embarrassing to see. Unfortunately good rounds can be rare as a surprising amount of Overwatch is just steamrolling, but a round or match where the odds keep changing is great.

Personally if my team steamrolls the enemy team, I’ll say “WP” or something along those lines so they don’t feel too bad. Generally a steamroll happens when a team is badly matched and lacks any sort of coordination/chemistry - Generally I don’t think it’s an accurate reflection of the players’ skills.

It means Good Round. Or it used to. I don’t know anyone who uses it for “get rekt”.

In all the games I’ve played, I’d say 95% of the time only the winning team says gg. It’s a hollow joke of a gesture these days at best and used to insult the opposing team at worst.

Good Round…

There’s a guy I play with that says it after every round/game in sentence format like, “Great round everybody!” 9/10 it is responded to with some form of toxicity.

GR stands for gay rights dude I’m just showing my support.

It is annoying, when team 2 loses and it’s dead silent

Then when they steamroll you, all six simultaneously are like
“GG hehe uwu~”
“great match ^ __^ teehee  gg”
“ez gg”

I didnt said GR in long time
Tho i had some games i could say were good lately, gr seems less common, just say gg after the game or something. Or like “oh well it happends” when we lose because someone left objective on overtime or something.

I hope you get perma banned for false reporting. Gr means good round. Snowflakes like you that see the worst in everything and are incredibly offended by it ruin the internet.

I say gr more when I lose than when I win.

I say gg on wins and losses.

The false reporting is purely accidental due to misunderstanding, but based on what he thought it meant, it is well within the guidelines of the abusive chat reporting and done on good faith. Permabanning him for misunderstanding something is way over the line. Given that most people know what it means, it seems really unlikely that his actions led to any actual damage done.

3 simple rules on how and when to properly say gg/gr without getting anyone offended:

  1. If you won be polite and just hold it in until someone from the losing side makes the first step.

  2. If you lost and and it was a good game for at least one of the sides: Say gg. It really helps to shrug of the loss and get into the next game in a better mood.

  3. If the game had intentional throwers, leavers, excessive toxicity, cheaters etc. it wasn’t a good game. Why would you make the claim that it was?

details are needed. Maybe that round was good and the other two were a big stomp?

I love it when someone on the team says ez on first round win on control, only to find a determined team the next 2 rounds that curbstomps him and all of us in the process.

Good round is kind of sus anyways unless the round was… Really, really good.
