People shouldn't be getting lootboxes or 25 credits to tank or support

You are creating more and more bad players just playing/throwing the game for a lootbox or to farm credits.

I’m getting tired of seeing terrible tanks and support mains that cannot tank or heal correctly. This is affecting all modes you implemented that in.

I know people laugh at tanks and supports having to get paid to Tank/Support. I however love to Heal but don’t even need to be paid 25 credits to do so.

I have 106,000 credits. I’m already rich. Why pay me to play support?

Its incentive to get people to heal and tank more… A lot of other games do it.

Healing and tanking are rare in every online game.

It’s like paying overnight workers more. No one wants to do it but it needs to be done. Give them a higher pay and some people might be convinced to apply.

If they’re so terrible, that means you’re terrible for being at the same rank as them.

“Players shouldn’t get a little more credit for playing the 2 roles most selfish dps mains never even wanna touch.”
Be grateful we even queue to get knocked around as tanks anymore.

It may be that many do not. However, it is equally true that many do.

And how do you expect those bad players to get better hm? Just quit…? Because you know practice doesn’t do anything it just makes you worse right?

People who genuinely want to become better at a role will do so regardless of reward or not.

These types of rewards do not entice people to PRACTICE tank or supports. They only entice people to PLAY them. There is a marked difference between the two.

If people hate the role or think they are doing poorly, they probably won’t keep playing it. I think it only incentivises people to try the roles out. If anything makes people want to keep playing roles they wouldn’t otherwise, it is queue times.

Fortunately, SR is different per role so it isn’t actually a problem.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. The incentive gave ME a reason to start playing tank and I found out I enjoy it. I then practiced so I could earn more lootboxes and help my team at the same time by doing a good job, and I’m sure there are others who are doing the same…:man_shrugging:

The rewards only served to allow you to discover you like tank sooner at best.

They did not entice you to practice tank. They encouraged you to play. There are many who only PLAY tank or support for those lootbox’s. They don’t care about how well they perform as WINNING is not even a requirement.

People discovering they like a role does not mean the rewards themselves are encouraging you to like the role. it only means you were enticed to play them.

There are many who I am sure do not care about those roles or the SR associated with them.

I do agree that this is a issue. It should require you to win to receive it like in arcade.

Should be the same for the credits as well honestly.

I don’t see any harm in incentivizing queuing for a less-popular role. Heck, even with this incentive in place currently, Damage players still have significantly longer queue times anyway.

I was primarily a tank main, but hate the current meta. If it wasn’t for the lootbox and credits, I would be playing support instead. I can still find some enjoyment playing tanks, but in general I would prefer to heal since D.Va feels so terrible to play.

The OP has described something specific that does cause harm. Incentivizing people to play a role for the sole purpose of lootbox’s but not incentivizing them to be any GOOD at it.

That is a problem.

Again, this isn’t a problem. The game has separate SR based on role. If someone doesn’t improve on the role they are playing for boxes/credits to the point that they are too bad to perform alongside you in your games, they drop in rank and you stop seeing them.

And get cursed to the depths of hell with hands full of blood because we don’t wanna play Orisa
