People seem to be taking QP more serious than comp now

Just got out of a QP where my team was upset cause I was off point in a QP of all things. I wasnt aware that quickplay was serious. So it appears QP is where all the disgruntled comp players are playing now.

It’s QP there was toxicity from both sides. ITS Q U I C K P L A Y

Best part is most of the people in that game weren’t even comp ranked.

If you are taking qp seriously God forbid when you que comp. I dont troll comp for the record. I do switch when something isn’t working and do communicate with the team. But under no circumstances should QP be a tryhard mode.

It’s quick play, not arcade. It’s a play space for people to practice for comp with new heroes, ideas etc so hero selection isn’t that big of a deal but NOT playing to the objective is a big deal.

I was flanking back lines and our front lines came down and they capped point it was the end of a hollywood. I couldnt get back in time.

Again it’s freaking quickplay. Put in an unranked comp mode in arcade once and for all for the “serious” practicers to do their thing.

Quickplay for me is a warm up spot at best.

Been playing comp since S1 and been in Master since S3 even tho every damn time this account gets placed on Diamond while other accounts to Master… This season is where I quit comp and switched to QP with my friends. QP has wayyy less toxicity nowadays and for my big suprise the throwing is minimal compared to comp. Comp is just teams running with 3-4dps and being insanely toxic atm.

So objectives don’t matter in Quickplay? You practicing to do what exactly?

Learn to read people I said in the other post that I was out of position due to a flank and the front line crumbling it was the end of a hollywood on defense.

I didnt have time to get back on the point. I just found it hysterical that people are treating it like the end of the world in a qp.

This is why we need unranked comp where people play both sides of the ball. We pushed them into overtime we probably would of capped with a faster time on attack. But’s irrelevant as it’s a quickplay game for Christ’ sakes.

QP isn’t only for practicing. There are players who doesn’t play comp at all, or/and they don’t play QP to pratice but more to have a chill game.
Playing “chill” doesn’t necessary mean playing like a monkey. It’s just playing without the pressure you have in comp.

The point isn’t to be serious or not in QP, but more about not being flammed/yelled at because you made some mistakes in QP.

So, in your argument about “hey I will not play seriously, it’s just quick play LOLLL” you are ruining the game experience for 11 people, doesn’t matter it’s QP or Ranked, you should always play objectives. The hero pick doesn’t matter as far as you play the game with a winning attitude, that is helping your team.

If you are going to “troll” or just kill the enemies and don’t play the objectives, create a custom game or play vs AI, you can practice there too and you will not come with the infamous phrase that we all hate as an excuse of your poor teamwork “it’s just QP LOLLL”.

QP is for practicing for competitive mode.

That means you theoretically should be playing useful comps, trying to get better at positioning, trying to get batter at Ult Usage and Synergy, Trying to get better at picking focus targets, trying to get better at communication, etc.

That’s the whole point of Quick Play. To practice for competitive in “quick” one-round games without having to worry about detriments when you’re still learning how to play the game well.

Some people take QP seriously because they’re actually trying to use the mode as intended, while others think it’s just a playground for trolling others and 1v1ing/dueling with other characters in obscure areas of the maps.

The reason why so many people are bad in Competitive is because they are forced to use it like the Quick Play mode, because no one in the Quick Play mode wants to use it properly. And these same people take this attitude to competitive (esp in lower Elos) where they use similar excuses like “It’s Bronze, chill out.”

Yes, I find QP/Arcade to be more serious in general than Comp. The MMR system is in constant flex there as well so you’ll move up quicker and actually fight harder opponents if you’re doing well. My QP MMR is somewhere in the 2k+ area while my SR is in the 1700-1800 range most of the time.

You can feel the difference.

Lmao

I play QP to either warm up before comp matches or practice other heroes to get better at. I will always try to win but I am not going to pick a hero because someone tells me to in QP because it isn’t “part of the meta”. Or if I have friends new to the game then I will play some QP with them so I can help them out and answer questions.

What is funny though is a lot of people take Skirmish too serious. They get mad when you shoot them because they are standing around spamming “Hi”. It’s friggin skirmish. It is meant to do whatever you want.

At least if your team mates are being idiots (Symmetra teleport troll, etc), you can just leave and find another game.

I also leave if (As happens 90% of the time) my team trickles in constantly 1v6 on point B of control maps. If they want to throw for the lulz good on them. I’ll try to find a proper game where people are trying to win.
